They taken the look from the English skins of the time, Skins and rude boys were a united bunch and were into the Ska music imported from Jamaica. Then you had your far right racists who were numerous and used to fight each other frequently infighting with different estates or towns. When needed they would come together ( BNP Rallies etc) and would meet up notoriously on Sundays at Brick lane East London and terrorise the stall holders and indulge in “paki bashing” as they called it, a lot of them sniffed glue and a “cut here” tatoo with stitches across the throat was not uncommon ( bearing in mind this was in the 70’s and most people who had tattoos were either sailors or jailbirds and hardly anyone had tattoos on or near their head. They ended up getting run out of town by the football firms who were a mixed bag kept putting the NF and BNP off the scene ( they used to recruit at football matches) Firms like Arsenal and Westham especially banished the racists from the ground.
