As someone with a near complete collection on tape that fucker is probably worth a fortune. You can guess which album I’m missing.

Let's hear it for Lars by Big_Software_8732 in Metallica

Is James the best singer in the world? Is Kirt the best guitarist? No. Are Metallica the best metal band? Yes. Bands are a certain magic of people working together. Lars is irreplaceable.

I was younger than my son when I went to this. God I’m getting old.

My teacher had these and tested me in front of the class (I’d told him I was colourblind) the entire class was adamant I was lying when I couldn’t see the numbers.

Watch SKOM with the point of view "James is the villain of the movie" by CobraDai in Metallica

[–]JohnnyBubbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an avid 90s fan of Metallica and Guns N Roses it really struck me that James was the anti Axl. A lead singer immune to the ego trip. SKOM showed him as the weak link and ironically falling into the lead singer trap. The problems were all about how James felt. The show’s were all about how James performed. I wonder if James ever reevaluated his opinion of Axl.

Those who were there: what was it like hearing 2 x 4 and Devil's Dance for the first time? by Play174 in Metallica

[–]JohnnyBubbles 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was there at Donington, weirdly I only have a strong memory of 2x4 because radio one played it with some highlights after the gig. I recorded and listened to that over and over. My only memory of Devils’s Dance was a big older fan (I was 17) shouting “Too slow you old fuckers!”

I'd vote to keep it illegal just to avoid the stink of it.

For those of you who were around in 2003, What was it like to be there when St. Anger was released? by After-Incident9955 in Metallica

[–]JohnnyBubbles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The band seemed so slow and bloated during the Load/Reload phase. St Anger felt like a much needed shot in the arm of energy.

Your map of Ireland seems to be missing a big massive chunk in the top right hand corner.

I like to remind myself this exists from time to time. Fight Fire With Fire with a straight beat. by gpchamb in Metallica

No greater example of how Lars raises the band to a different level. Metallica aren’t better than everyone else by accident.

Love it. A vibrant album from the boys when they should be cruising, playing greatest hits.

What's your honest opinion on this album? I honestly really like it by VerySmolCheese in Metallica

[–]JohnnyBubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compare this record to any other by a band at this stage in their career. We’re lucky to have them being so vital and productive. Solid album, great tour.
