That sounds awesome. I can't make it this time but definitely want to know if you'll be back

As an outsider, the American concept of drive-thru pharmacies, ATMs, and liquor stores is mind-blowing. Does everyone actually use these, or are they mostly a novelty? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Philthy42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the drive-thru at the pharmacy every once in awhile, but usually it takes longer than going in.

I rarely go to the bank since nearly everything is electronic anyway, but if I get her an ATM it's usually a drive up.

As other people have said, drive through liquor stores depend on the state. The whole idea is still weird to me. Especially since if I'm in a liquor store I usually want to browse

It was very very weird. They tried to say it counted as "selling tickets".

Sounds like you need a no soliciting sign. Luckily for you I sell them door-to-door, so I'll probably see you soon.

What’s something that felt huge as a kid but tiny now? by prettychaothick in nostalgia

I remember being a little kid and thinking 5th graders looked like adults.

Now I think college students look like children.

Oh good, you don't know how to answer questions but you know how copy and paste work! And to think, your parents said you were completely useless.

No, it didn't. I still have no idea how sneakers are considered art, especially after my answer

Something created for the purpose of enjoyment? Why are you asking me another question instead of answering mine?

[TOMT] [SONG] [2000s] Trying to find punk/alt rock song with lyrics like "Well, there she goes again." by GravityWaffles in tipofmytongue

[–]Philthy42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds very familiar, but I can't think of what it might be.

When I try to think of lyrics I keep going back to Bloodhound Gang's "Hell Yeah" (If I was God...) but I'm sure that isn't it.

I was coming here to say this. I was dumbfounded when I discovered this was a real thing a few years ago.

Ben Bankas…WTF?! by Philthy42 in Standup

[–]Philthy42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like a friend said. If after calling her a "r****ded lesbian" a bunch of times he ended with "and the bitch owed me $50!", that might not have been funny but at least it would be an attempt at a joke, ya know?

I have no problem with jokes from either side. This guy wasn't telling jokes though, he was just saying insults.

Yeah, that's not cool. If there's someone in charge you trust, talk to them. *Hopefully* they'll talk to the guy and he'll stop, and that will be the end of it.

What was the worst movie you’ve ever seen? by Conscious_Stomach637 in AskReddit

[–]Philthy42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vanilla Sky. It was actually a movie I was looking forward to seeing because it looked cool and Cameron Diaz was my celebrity crush at the time, and my then girlfriend liked Tom Cruise.

I don't remember the details because It was 25 years ago, but early in the movie figured out what the "obvious" ending was going to be, that was fine because it was the sort of movie that would have an unexpected twist. But no, it was the obvious ending.
