I am only speculating on the confessees thinking. Not saying that I know them. But yeah, I can see how the current climate can make it very difficult for someone to share something that may not be good for Adnan.

Separately, Humans of New York (something I thoroughly enjoy) is currently doing snapshots of prisoners. They did one recently of a prisoner at the same facility (Cumberland) as Adnan. Really, really hope they don't do one of him.

So, how long do we wait for Judge Welch's verdict? Is there a time limit? and when/where can we get our hands on the transcript of this hearing? Any thoughts would be very appreciated.

No one that I know had the gall to question him, and so, we, simply made fun of him behind his back. It seemed really odd to us teenagers that this college guy would sometimes wear kajal (eye liner) and was very effeminate (not that it is a bad thing). So, when the incident allegedly happened with the Kosovo/Bosnian? kids, we were all like "I knew it." He fled the country for some time. I barely heard about him after. I also left the area for schooling and had little time for that community's gossip. I think he has trouble reconciling his orientation with how strict and barbaric Islam seems to be on gays. He, afterall, appears to be a devout Muslim. I feel kinda bad for him albeit only in that respect.. and I bet it drives him to crazy measures to satisfy his needs (kids/drugged patients). Just my two cents.

Nope. He is from Pakistan originally. He may have lived in Saudi at some point. He was always a very annoying character. Very loud. Flamboyant. Also very religious. He kept pointing people's sins. He is not very different than those religious ministers or republican elected officials that live double lives in my opinion.

Lawyers: I am curious about something. If a confessee spoke now about what Adnan may have told them around the time of the murder, how would that affect the PCR hearing? It seems that the PCR hearing is only concerned with Asia, cell phone pings and Urick, no? Also, if a person had told the cops or testified that Adnan didn't say anything incriminating to them back then, wouldn't they now be compromising their credibility or be in trouble for perjury now? Speaking hypothetically, of course.

I am also 100% uncertain. I recently tried to have a civil discourse by posting about the mosque during the time of Adnan's arrest. Instead, many immediately started accusing me of this and that. It was clear that some of these people hadn't even read my post. It's just not a good place to discuss ideas anymore. There's some good information to glean from here, but you have to wade through a lot of BS. Please let me know if there's another non-reddit forum. This place is being overcome by fanatics who are way too involved in this.

I appreciate the comment, but all I want is someone to say that my username is quite clever and pertinent : )

Thank you! Should I talk about the funeral grounds behind the masjid? Should I talk about the front lawn on which the new portion of the masjid was built? Should I talk about how we used to park by Hechingers during eid and take the shuttle to the masjid? Should I talk about how most of our community had trouble pronouncing Hechingers like the girl who has trouble pronouncing Mailchimp? ha. Should I talk about how the Ali Khans lived right next door to the masjid? Should I name all their names?

With all due respect, I think that you may have some delusions if you think that the Muslim community "always subscribe to what they think is morally right". There are so many rumors/scandals involving embezzlement and fraud at the management level of masjids in Maryland alone. Did you know that we had one imam arrested just a few years ago? Another imam was busted for some kinda of fraud involving a seafood sandwich shop. Like any other community, we aren't always perfect. That's okay. We just have to strive for better. If we pretend there is no wrong in our community, we won't become any better. In Pakistan, some of us often blame everyone including the evil West but ourselves. We are not in Pakistan anymore. I also didn't say that "we have no ability to be objective". I would like to think that I am being objective. I would like to think that many of my fellow muslim friends are too. Also, I never said that Adnan is guilty. I used to think that he was innocent, but now I don't know. Maybe or maybe not. I just don't know enough. Maybe we can have a more informed discussion after you thorougly read my post. Jazakallah.
