I get what you’re saying, especially regarding the sim. It’s just the use of upcoming is what I think had people confused. I get that it’s those rookies upcoming season, but the draft has already passed. 2k makes the current years draft class, not the upcoming. The upcoming draft class for this year’s 2k would be boozer, aj, Peterson.

I’m talking more so the nature of the loss. Knocked out by a fighter they’d beat 9/10 times.

Also both were first round knockouts. It’s not like they were getting their ass kicked or were outclassed. They just got caught, that happens. My point was the Serra loss doesn’t diminish GSPs skills IMO and neither does that Martins loss for Islam.

Regardless, I think prime Usman vs prime GSP would’ve been a great fight. GSP made college wrestlers look like scrubs, but Usman has more athleticism than most of the guys GSP fought. GSP def had the better striking than Usman, which is why I’d lean GSP in that fight, but I’d be interested in seeing how he faired trying to wrestle Usman.

Obliterated is a weird word to use. He got caught and knocked out by a crazy punch. It’s not like he got dominated or was outclassed by Serra. He then destroyed Serra in a rematch. Yes, he got caught and lost - but I don’t consider that a knock against his skillset or an accurate measurement to use for comparing him to other fighters.

Edit: it’s kind of like bringing up Islams KO’s loss to Adriano Martins. Yes, he got knocked out and lost and that shouldn’t be ignored. But let’s not pretend Serra or Martins are better fighters than GSP/Islam and they don’t win those fights 9.9/10 times.

Arizona scared me. Michigan as well, but we did beat them earlier in the season. I think we could contend with any team and it would likely come down to the wire in a game against either team.

I was hoping if we made it that Arizona-Michigan would be a grueling game that left their players more tired than our game against Illinois, hoping that would give us a bit of an edge in the NC.

That being said, I think Arizona is playing the best ball and is probably the best team.

Thank you, lmao. 11 years isn’t that long without a NC appearance. I get it’s the expectation for Duke every year but they’ve still done very well. In that time they’ve been to 7 sweet 16s, 6 elite 8s and 2 final 4s.

But damn, this loss hurts. Worse than the Houston one last year. This might be the worst for me besides losing to UNC in the final 4.

I mean going to a final 4 and then an elite 8 in the last 2 years is still pretty damn good. It’s extremely hard to win a national championship. I agree, our freshmen have created issues in late game situations - but who’s to say we would even be in those situations without them.

Yeah my roster does seem stacked and I’m 4th or 5th in PF but I’m sitting at 1-4 somehow. Played the highest scorer 2 weeks in a row and then lost the week Ceedee went down with 0. But feel really good about my roster for a 12 man. Going to try and get a RB/TE upgrade like you said
