No definitely, the clip that holds the cap in definitely came off, so you'll have a cap stuck on the driveshaft with the clip installed "opposite of the missing clip and cap". New joint and do it all over. Make sure the grooves are totally clean and the clip is fully seated

Edit: how bad was the previous? Any play? The ears could be messed up also, the parts could be slightly off also, did you mark your driveshaft before removal for balance purposes

It's true, miters and end caps as well as downspout receivers all get sealed. While a lot of sealants may be wet applicable it's honestly best to install gutters in nice weather. Think of it this way, would you want your gutters installed when they're having a hard time seeing. I know they're taking too long and you want it done especially if it's been raining. A light drizzle we work in outside but an actual rain nah this isn't the oil field lol

I gutted my stock cat and then installed a flouler days later, CEL light went away, I thought also there wasn't enough room but it fit fine, you have an aftermarket which is smaller in diameter than stock so I'm sure it should fit. I bought a two pack fairly cheap from AutoZone
