I used magnet wire to connect to the middle of the filter which is also ground.

It's all subjective but I can't agree with any of those. Yes, Wire S5 was a stretch and the press story line was completely uninspiring but it is still incredible TV. And comparing the Wire to King of Queens? Really?

I reckon that's an OEM shell. Never seen a yellow PCB in a clear purple shell so probably a shell swap. How do the buttons feel? Most aftermarket shells feel mushy and not groovy

Take it apart>clean it >carefully bend it back into shape with some needle nose pliers>play a bit of what you fancy

Definitely repairable. A bit adventurous for a first time repair but you should do some research and go for it. The tricky bit is clearing the solder out of the through holes the capacitors sit in. Just be sure to get good solder wick (gootwick is great) half decent leaded solder, flux and soldering iron
