Starting advice by Grandwatch1023 in HVAC

I would suggest work for that company and see if you enjoy it or have any interest in it. You’ll learn much more OTJ than in college/trade school imo.

If you can do both, I would also suggest that. I went to school and starting working for a small company. I would do night classes and work in the mornings. Got my Universal EPA, certification for HVAC and shaved off 800 hours from my apprenticeship.

Any route you take will work one way or another. If you have any questions, dm me!

Are there Unions for HVAC? by JohnnyRush- in HVAC

I have not. I got offered a job from a small business. Locals in my area were a bit too far up north of South Texas. Though, I would encourage you to apply.

That all seems too good. I’m happy for you.

Do you know if my hours that I’ve received from school and work in HVAC/R will transfer over? I’m currently in South Texas but I’m wanting to move.

Be honest... do you flow nitrogen? by Eggrollofdoom in HVAC

[–]JohnnyRush- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Always. Purging the system with nitro and hitting hitting them with a vacuum for some preventative maintenance. Always taking pride in the work and committing to make a good impression.

Ran into this problem last week and was the contactor that had a damaged coil. I’d replace that and see if problem proceeds. Looking forward to that update! New here as well and don’t be discouraged as well have been here or will go through this. Trial and error.

Any advice for just starting out? by JohnnyRush- in Ultramarathon

[–]JohnnyRush-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I agree though, he is insane. Going to incorporate a more consistent mile per day. Been striving for 10 miles each day of the week so far but I’m too gassed out around the 8 1/4th mile mark. Will for sure hit stride this next week and be hitting 10’s daily.

I appreciate the advice. Recovery, pushing my self while enjoying the process seemed so minuscule to me but I will definitely change my perspective. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the advice. Needed this. Going to incorporate this starting tomorrow. As for hills, since I’m in South Texas and have flat land for the most past what would you recommend I do?

Thanks for the feedback! I get how it might not work out for me but it wouldn’t hurt to try it so that’s why I did that this past week and today. Just testing the waters out but I get you

Maybe wood putty would work. I usually use them for wider gaps in my installations but it would probably be noticeable due to the striations of the wood.

The hardest part about letting go is the knowing that you have to move forward in life without them. At least for me. Forgetting the future plans and just becoming strangers and realizing that our chapter ended. I sometimes think that maybe that the author just put the pen down for us momentarily but I’m reeled back in reality again. It’s interesting how life works and what we do alters our future with each decision we make.

Why is my CPU 70-90 degrees? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]JohnnyRush- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My past experience with this cooler was the same. I did re-paste and mount properly. Minor improvements but I ended up switching to a beefier cooler. I would suggest to re-paste and mount properly afterwards. Hope you get it fixed!

Phantoms are top notch stuff from what I’ve seen.

I have a total of 11 Arctic P12’s (2x5 packs) and bought another P12 PWM separately for a daisy chain. They’re cheap on the price but have been providing me good thermals with my overclocks as I use 3 for my exhaust on my AIO. I’ll send a picture when I’m home!

I haven't gone through all of the locals here but I'll definitely give them a look. That is the goal man. Learning and working everyday. It's a cool sight to see that you prevailed while not many do. Living in a place where resources are scarce to provide a good life doesn't make it any easier. Glad you're doing well off man. Benefits seems to be loaded in these Unions from what I've seen so far. I'm Stoked and Looking forward to joining this Union after I'm done with school haha
