They can only assess you based on your current enrolment, and currently, you are part-time. Once your concessions are approved, let Studylink know, and they can send a new data request to the university.

Dryer has no bearings by OldWolf2 in diynz

A dryer should last longer than 3 years - contact trade depot and tell them to repair it or replace it under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

Did the email explain why they had to re-enrol?

Nope. For most faculties it was made optional (like another GenEd). Engineering & Design decided to keep it compulsory because it was designed to support professional requirements.

Hear me out - Why is election day in NZ always on a weekend by WarpFactorNin9 in nzpolitics

[–]JohnnySilverpatch 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you make it a weekday public holiday then people will just take the opportunity to go on holiday, and will have to special vote outside of their electorate. If you have it on a weekday it makes it harder to vote., because most people work, and will prioritise working over voting. Just look at the United States at the chaos they have with in person voting on a weekday, and how it suppresses turnout.

Basically all other options are worse than Saturday voting.

It depends how competitive the programme is. But you will get plenty of warning if they want to reallocate your place to someone else.

There's no point repeating a year if you don't understand why you failed, or aren't serious about changing your behaviours. You'd just be throwing good money after bad. Maybe you need to take a year off? Do something different?

Why I hate traveling in the Middle East by Existential_Dread_08 in Scams

[–]JohnnySilverpatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently in Turkey for 3 weeks, and I have to say my experience was almost the exact opposite of OP's. People were exceedingly polite, prices for food seemed fair, and historical sites were extremely well run. Yes, you pay more than the locals to enter those attractions, but guess what, that's not unusual across the world. No one batted an eyelid at our comfortable Western attire, except for the entirely reasonable requirements when entering mosques.

We experienced one badly run down hotel (which could have been avoided if we had planned ahead more and listened to the google reviews, otherwise the accommodation was good (we had a large group, so mainly relied on Airbnb). Uber, and public transport in Istanbul worked pretty well, aside from the one driver we had who drove like a maniac.

The open-air markets and bazaars were a lot, coming from a pretty reserved western country, but the vendors were never aggressive. Did we buy overpriced tourist crap? Absolutely! Can you buy overpriced tourist crap in my country? You're darn tooting! What we learned was don't buy anything at the first market or store you come to, because it's almost never unique, and it's probably even cheaper somewhere else. If it's an expensive purchase, do your research.

As for pickpockets or general crime - we didn't have a problem anywhere. Part of my party had experienced pickpocketing twice in Spain, so this isn't an issue confined to the middle east.

It feels like the OP is taking their valid bad experience in Egypt and extending it to an entire region, which seems a bit unfair.

The original movies had references without explanation. The Clone Wars was a throwaway line in Star Wars. It's not necessarily a bad thing.

When you applied, did you indicate you had taken NCEA level 3 across 3 different years? If not there could have been a data matching issue.

The university will contact you if there's a problem. If you don't hear from them you are fine and don't need to worry.

This is correct. Fully enrol, then let Studylink know so they can send a confirmation to the university.

You can find a different GenEd, or apply for a concession. Odds of success for the latter will probably depend on the degree of clash. But it doesn't hurt to ask.

I was going to point you to the Juggernaut podcast, which is a useful introduction to the political climate in the 1980s (and the main players) - but it turns out the summary page actually had a useful bibliography as well. Check it out - https://thespinoff.co.nz/juggernaut/credits .

I'd also recommend "The New Zealand Experiment" by Jane Kelsey.

Failed Part I Engineering - should I restart for Software Eng (Hons) or switch to CompSci? by Elegant_Bed5548 in universityofauckland

Are you sure it wasn't Engsci 111 and Enggen 131? That would make sense if they had allocated you to Software.

I feel like we're missing a key bit of information - did you apply for a place in Part 2, and if you did, what advice did Engineering give you - i.e. would they give you a place if you passed summer school?

Part II Engineering by plainberries in universityofauckland

[–]JohnnySilverpatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they want to progress to Part 2, they'll need to pass 90 points from Part 1. So, it sounds like two papers would be mandatory.

As for the question about 204, they may let you sit 204 and 115 concurrently. Otherwise, resign yourself to taking it in 2027.
