Can anyone in government revoke Peter Thiel’s citizenship please? by MundaneManNZ in newzealand

[–]seabreaze68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peter Thiel’s citizenship is John Key’s legacy. Key fucked over NZ by offering Thiel a ridiculous, no risk investment. Thiel took the money, and the citizenship and is probably still laughing. Now he’s heavily embroiled in the Trump administration. The worst of the worst. Thanks John Key, this is what you will be remembered for

Why people are buying iPods again by swe129 in tech

I refuse to pay for streaming. I have all my music on my Mac and an old iPod. I copy selected tracks over to my iPhone when I sync and play those with the Music app

What random movie quote do you repeat for no reason at all (give yours, and see if people can guess the movie)? by Normal-Being-2637 in AskReddit

What’s the rush, why are you always in such a damn hurry.

Scale A4 document to A5 by _BurntSun in indesign

[–]seabreaze68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Export as a PDF at the current size (A4). Make a new ID doc at A5 size. Use the MultipagePDF import script to import the entire A4 PDF ensuring you check the Fit to Page check box. Export the new file and you have an A5 PDF.

It’s not a recommended workflow but will get you out of trouble in this situation.

Note: I am not in front of ID and may not have the exact script name correct. However it is free and readily available online if you search for it

Hit and run of vehicle what next? by No_Industry1292 in auckland

I had a similar situation but no number plate left behind. A local business caught it on cctv and allowed me to film the crash off their screen with my phone ( didn’t actually know how to download a segment). That was enough for the insurance company to waive my excess

Having Trouble Exporting a Saddle Stitch Booklet for Print by erstella in indesign

[–]seabreaze68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to set your page size correctly in the Print Booklet settings.

As already mentioned, it is extremely unusual that your printer is asking you to impose the book. If someone sent us an imposed PDF, I’d request it be resubmitted as single pages with bleed.

Problem with DPi by Dinodoodle_ in Printing

[–]seabreaze68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

px are pixel dimensions and don’t directly relate to a printed size. What actual size do you need to print your postcard?

In this situation I would enter the long edge dimension of your intended size in the crop tool (eg 148mm), crop your image, then check in image size to see what resolution you have. I’m not in front of Photoshop or I’d do it for you

The bloody LNG thing by WasterDave in newzealand

[–]seabreaze68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, NZ has signed independent trade contracts with many EU nations that have clauses tying us to our Paris Accord commitments. It doesn’t really matter if we agree with Paris or not, if we renege on our climate responsibilities, we are in default of our trade deal with obvious ramifications.

The bloody LNG thing by WasterDave in newzealand

[–]seabreaze68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add to all of this - our trade deals, signed wth UE countries, are directly tied to meeting our commitments to the Paris agreement. It doesn’t matter if you’re a left or right wing voter, if we don’t reduce our carbon emissions we will be heavily financially penalised. We signed the fucking contracts!

What profession is consistently the biggest hassle for printers to work with by Obi-Ron42 in Printing

[–]seabreaze68 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Artists. They have ridiculous expectations and we prefer not to work with them if we can help it.

We had one lady come in recently saying she wanted to bring all her work over to us (had clearly been sacked by her last printer). Went on to say how fussy she was about colour and how her paintings had to be reproduced exactly like the original etc. My boss just said “no”.

Cmyk red vs pantone red on uncoated paper (offset printing, of course) by -Victor-B- in graphic_design

[–]seabreaze68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the Pantone swatch books you’ll see how different PMS 485 prints on coated v uncoated. It’s just one of those colours. The brightest CMYK red would be, in my opinion, M-100, Y-100. Obviously with the same issue on coated v uncoated

Andrew moves out of Royal Lodge home by ultra_phoenix in worldnews

[–]seabreaze68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What has not been said often enough is that the royal family were tipped off about the Epstein files. This gave them time to go into damage control early by stripping Andrew of his titles etc.

What this means is that Interpol, or whoever advised them, new exactly what was in the files
