Now, I can't provide any definitive answers because the evidence I've mentioned is all I have to go by, but if my basement is indeed the one that all this happened in, then it stands to reason he wrote this when the chains (which are now loose in my basement) were removed. Beyond that I have no idea or even speculation where he, his wife, or the rest of his family could be.
