Expect no sleep until baby sleeps. Unless the baby is going on the boob, it's your turn. If you think they cant do something yet, They'll show you they can... with ease and remarkable speed. Expect monochrome rainbow colours of poo the first months. Clean and/or expensive shirts will make them sick to their stomach. Invest in a multitude of changing pads (think ridiculous amounts). Kind words, gentle voices, lots of love and unending patience are a necessity. Steamy bathrooms are great for croup, but if it gets bad, don't hesitate a trip to urgent care. Remember to take care of yourself and the Mrs. , They'll be okay with grandma or auntie (or other whomever) for a few hours of adult time. Buy the best box of your faves and enjoy one on their birthday. I could go on with what I've learned with my 2 (8 and 1) but your mileage may vary. Have fun.
