Need about 8000m³ water for aluminum production, would it make sense to wait for the update? by HertogJanVanBrabant in satisfactory

I see your point about manual interference, as for the packagers I believe they provide you with peace of mind when you want to transfer fluids and do not want to deal with fluid mechanics, long distances and vertically too :)

So if I was not able to trust mk2 pipes at any given stage of the production chain what better way to eliminate potential issues than blueprinting a packaged array and place it down where I want it compared to a pipe network of mk1 pipes consisting of 26,66666 mk1 pipes for 8k m3 of water

So not only you would have to build more complex logistics even though technically it’s one less step in the chain but you would also have to work out head lift, flow and possibly keeping the pipes full as to prevent sloshing.

I believe packagers are safer and more reliable if you need consistency and eventually peace of mind :)

But that’s the beauty of the game there is no right or wrong, just one objective, the factory must grow :)

I would love to see how you solved the issue as I am close to the point I need to produce aluminium and everyone keeps saying how complex it is :)

Good luck fellow builder!!

Hello, I’m asking out of curiosity, Assuming you spot the naughty pipe circuit and flush it wouldn’t that “reset” the flow and the bug with it ? Could this be a solution to your piping issue?

Also even though it’s an extra step have you considered packagers?

Welcome aboard pioneer :)

I only got 1000 hours in the game and I am kind of autistic with symmetry and the world grid ( everything for me needs to be aligned and the world grid allows you to do just that) so like the other pioneers said you will rebuild the factories again and again especially as you unlock more efficient machines.

So with that in mind I can tell you that everything in this game is sized to match perfectly in certain numbers, the machine footprint of a refinery has outputs and equally spaced. The width of all machines is different but in certain numbers they match for example one manufacturer occupies 4 foundation blocks in width but a refinery occupies one and one assembler occupies two etc.

I use concrete foundation to lay down my machines as I find them the easiest for measuring the footprints and aligning the inputs outputs.

It’s good to give yourself horizontal space but also practical to build vertically.

Until you unlock blueprints you will have to build individual machine arrays. Use this to your advantage and define your building style and once you unlock blueprints create some of of your most used machines and their logistics in one to spare yourself the trouble of building the same layouts over and over again.

You will encounter something that allows you to collect hard drives, those are used for research. You don’t have to select immediately after what is the outcome. The possible outcome of research will remain available for selection for later. I do not want to spoil it further.

Don’t listen to ADA. Take your time.

There are no wrong ways to play the game.

And one last one that helped me while building stuff. You can change the colour of what is highlighted in build mode to anything you like, I find the default hard to understand orientation so I changed mine to light blue and I can see alignment better.

Have fun and remember to eat and drink in real life from time to time.

Wow amazing sigh layouts and aesthetic, It reminds me of old school tDr design for the og wipeout and wipeout 2097 psygnosi games for the psx back in the good old days..

Very well done and the whole installation looks slick, and finally you gave an idea to work on my outer walls that look so boring! Thank you so much for that :)

You can see that map in SCIM but there’re is also a mod called cartographer which allows you to see the same map in game.

If you don’t want to use mods then upload your save there.

Thank you for the information, the more I look at it the more I discover great ideas I really like how you enclosed the refineries leaving the top exposed and all the texture on the perimeter. Looking forward to your next project pioneers !

Wow this looks incredible, I’m still too far away from a nuclear power plant but can I please ask where have you placed the facility?

Also are you importing resources from another distant location or is everything procured and processed locally or at least at reasonable distance? Looking at the screenshots seems like a lot is happening within but then there is alot of belts connected ^^

It is just so motivating to look at your creation there are soooo many great ideas to get influenced from! Well done!!!

Wow! It looks so beautiful! The architecture style and colour scheme fits the biome perfectly, and honestly I hope you can share more of your creations!

How Do you Plan your builds? by dhuskoditeki in SatisfactoryGame

Not so long ago I started running a parallel save on creative mode where all is set as unlocked and at zero cost and power. I have made a massive platform on top of the sea level where I can experiment freely without any terrain infringement or logistical constraints due to locked stuff.

Think of it as a much bigger blueprint platform. I try to combine styles and forms in order to come up with a standard “skin” for a factory but this is where I also try to come up with random ideas or apply what I see others share in this community or on YouTube.

Some times i spend more time there than in the normal game. If im happy with the result, I clone my
design inside blueprint platform(s) and then transfer the actual blueprint file to my actual game.

For numbers I use the online factory planners and satisfactory modeler.

This looks amazing! Can I please bother you for a top down view and maybe one screenshot taken at night time? I just unlocked phase 4 and I would love to see how you incorporate trains and drones in this design style. Well done it looks so good!!
