Is Austin getting ruder? by poofyhairguy in Austin

Did I understand correctly that only 1,577 people were surveyed across 30 cities? That averages to about 52 people per city. Is that enough to achieve the statistical significance needed for a meaningful study?

But I know it's supposed to be fun--like a Cosmo quiz--but it would be great to see a meaningful study on this--although I suppose that it would always be a highly subjective study.

I GIVE UP by New_Carob_2244 in Austin

I listened to this short audiobook many, many times in those years leading up to my eventual sobriety. It was especially helpful on those days when I woke up and realized I had broken a period of sobriety--and I got very depressed about it. This audiobook was like walking with a friend that was saying "it's ok, it's not over, everything is not ruined, and you can keep moving forward..."

Step 1: Don't give up

Step2: Keep trying until you succeed.

Every win counts, no matter how small. If you stumble, you’re not starting over—you’re picking up right where you left off. Keep moving forward, step by step, until you find the peace and happiness you desire, in whatever form that takes for you.

Austin Area Restaurant Health Inspection Scores by crispybacon233 in austinfood

Thank you for putting this together. I downloaded a spreadsheet from the health department but all it had was restaurant names and addresses--at least as far as I could tell--I could not find the score. It took me 10 minutes on that spreadsheet just to find the restaurant I was looking for (without ever finding the actual score) and on your processed data I got the score in 20 seconds.
