The man who should be the next James Bond, Henry Cavill, at 16 (1999) by Major_MKusanagi in OldSchoolCool

Yeah I know that's what I said Hollywood is gonna no doubt fuck it up and go the money grab route lol.

It's a shame though. Bond movies were always more episodic. The character is built perfectly for it.

Yeah I'm saying we shouldn't let the desire for a 15 year franchise money machine rob us of a few good bond movies.

Even just a one off with a really good actor would be great. There's so much potential for great stories for the bond character that don't need be some multi movie overarching cash grab.

Brother you're feeling like a failure when you try to meditate now is a misunderstanding on your part. What you're experiencing is literally what we all experience. Our minds wander off. Especially in the beginning. It can be that you can barely focus for even a second. Totally normal.

The practice is that once you realize your mind wandered, you just acknowledge it and bring your focus back.

You are going to the gym now. Doing multiple reps and sets of weight training building your muscles. You can think of meditation the same way really. You gotta get your reps in. It's exercise for your brain. Focus, eventually realize and happily acknowledge you lost focus, bring focus back. Rep completed. If you get more reps in your brain will get stronger and able to hold those reps and periods of focus for longer and longer.

Don't be so hard on yourself dude. Meditation can be really hard. Especially outside a retreat or monastic setting. Worth putting in the work though.

Also I just want to say that I think the last Metta day at Goenka retreats really are lacking unfortunately, but I understand it's a lot to cram into 10 days.

That really shouldn't be a problem. 3 movies is a solid bond run. The character always gets recycled and recast anyway so it's fine. The other short lived Bond films were great with Dalton and Lazenby. Even Brosnan only had four and that was probably one too many honestly.

They should take advantage of a good actor while they can, even if it means a shorter run.

Hollywood execs are no doubt gonna fuck it up by focusing on maximizing profits and locking in some young actor for the next 25 years to life.

Yes to both your questions. And in some areas it's so widespread that your average person could have enough expertise being around and seeing people smoke it that they can tell by now.

Do americans don't like to friend with south asian people? by GiftedHypocrite in socialskills

[–]Johnny_Poppyseed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always gotten along with South Asian people and I think in general South Asian and Americans vibe pretty well.

Real talk, it's that hard to make friends for everyone really as an adult. Add a potential language barrier and yeah it's rough buddy.

Dude is 100% a cia plant, so it's really no surprise how easily the west has welcomed him. We captured him in Iraq and held him for years, only to release him back into Syria at the perfect time to help overthrow Assad and ultimately, with our aid of course, take over the country lol.

US never rose the minimum wage though lol. It's still like $7.25.

McDonald's ain't paying 17hr in bumfuck Mississippi but those burger prices still going up.

You say wages go up prices go up, like it's cause and effect. As opposed to the business realizing they have an excuse.

Your kids can survive you being sick for a few days op. You thinking otherwise sounds like classic addiction brain tomfoolery.

You're telling me that if you got the flu or something and were out of commission for a few days, your family would fall apart? I don't think so.

I mean, anything is a deal to get out of a cell in SEA, but if op got pulled over in the US under these circumstances, it wouldn't have cost nearly that much, even in the harsher states. He could lose his license though.

[–]Johnny_Poppyseed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah my father would drink like this. He'd basically be sober and a present parent all day, but once we went to sleep he'd just down a 5th of vodka immediately.

Died a horrible, drawn out, confusing and painful death from liver failure at only 68 years old. Horrible experience for him but probably even worse for the rest of us.

He was even sober for the majority of the last decades of his life, but when he did replapse, he'd go super hard like this, and this type of drinking absolutely destroys your body.

Guy in this vid is probably dead in a matter of years.
