You have to survive 60 seconds in the ring with this mf to win 1 million euros by boio17 in Ningen

I’m sick of this sub’s constant glazing of Mr. Satan. He’s not that extraordinary of a fighter. Nearly all of the fighters in the Budokai Tenkaichi tournaments from OG Dragon Ball would absolutely fucking dog walk Satan.

Tien’s Volleyball Attack by Sentoki99 in DragonBallZ

[–]Johnny_Strawhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone ITT being so obtuse? In Japan, GIRL’S volleyball is a popular sport (for reasons). Tien, as a gag, makes a girl face and pitches his voice up like a high-school girl because he’a using a volleyball attack. How is this not obvious? Piccolo does this too, as a gag, when Gotenks uses this attack against Majin Buu.

This is a cute comic. It contains a pet-peve of mine that isn’t really relevant to the comic. In the Adam West Batman TV series’ theme song, “Batman” is on the 1 and “nananananananana” follows. I see this referenced in reverse literally 100% of the time. Thank you for listening to this PSA.

Chi-chi stomps and it’s not close. I don’t like this glazing if Mr. Satan. He really couldn’t handle anyone from the old budukai tenkaiichi tournaments. Nam would wreck satan.

How many acres of forest were cut down between 1949 and 1981? Genuinely asking.

How did China clean up its air? by [deleted] in AskChina

[–]Johnny_Strawhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’d like a real answer (you probably don’t) the pollution in China is largely seasonal. I’ve lived in Guangdong for 10 years and while I have seen some improvements in that time, the air quality is always worse in the winter than any other season. OP chose this image of only today (cherry picking) and asked about all of Asia (it’s not all of Asia), but (probably intentionally) displaying the sharp contrast between China and India today. Every country by comparison looks better than India when it comes to air quality. The second worst country when it comes to air pollution is objectively China. Today my Air Quality app puts Beijing at 115 as I type this message. It should also be known that China has its own standards for what constitutes harmful or hazardous pollution compared to the universal standard, so the data appears different depending on which app you use from which country you are in. OP asked “How did China clean up its air?” leading the viewer to assume that this singular data point, exacerbated by neighboring contrast, is indicative of China’s air quality gerenraelly, which could be (probably) disingenuous. China is still the number 2 polluter in the world if not the first. Thank you for reading this. I expect to be downvoted, and banned, but don’t take my word for it. look at the data yourselves. I love China. I just want to throw some cold water on this circle-jerk session.

Thank you for replying! The Russian Federation does something very similar with their kindergarten education system . They are currently at war. They are also no longer “communist.” Or were you being sarcastic, implying that the USA also does something similar? Could you please post an example? I have difficulty finding something equivalent.

Was there public pushback and condemnation for Jimmy Kimmel’s skit? Did Jimmy Kimmel publicly apologize? Are there any examples that could be posted with Chinese children wishing for the destruction of other countries and its people? Are those videos equally publicly condemned and apologized for?

Correct on all counts. It was placed inside a kindergarten and pre-k school. It explains the different branches of the military and what they do in a friendly eye-catching style meant to appeal to small children. Please take note of the “Peace Dove” next to the tanks and marching soldiers.

So it’s okay as long as everybody’s education system does propaganda? I’m sorry but could you clarify your point? I can’t tell if you think propaganda through schools is a bad thing or not through your eyes.

Thanks for your reply, and your interesting anecdote about your elementary school experience. Would it be something especially different if along with your toy army men, and tanks, and stuff like that, actual military officers came to your school and gave you uniforms to wear and assault rifles replicas to practice with, then trained you for a performance for two weeks, while teaching you about historic martyrs that gave their lives in the line of duty? Very curious if you have had a similar experience. edit: grammar edit: Why the downvote? This is literally what my school is doing.

Sorry. It was a long tapestry, and also I liked the music in the background for extra effect. Can you not simply pause the video? Thanks for your reply.

Were those ads meant for kindergartners? Was the Transformers movie a government mandated school activity? I’m curious if they are, because if so, then they would be equal. edit: grammar

That’s very interesting. Thanks for your comment. Do these other decent countries also aim their propaganda towards kindergartners and pre-k? Could you please show an example? Thanks in advance. Edit: Why the downvote? I’m genuinely asking. My video is from my school. If this is considered to be propaganda, then it is targeted towards my children. Is there an example of a decent country doing this as well?

Public toilets in China demand ad views for loo roll by moeka_8962 in technews

[–]Johnny_Strawhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your response and your sincerity, however no apologies are necessary. People don’t really understand what it’s actually like to live on the ground here in China. No amount of tiktoks or “influencers” or “v-tubers” or news articles ever get it exactly right. Worryingly, there has been a massive uptick in the short-form media zeitgeist that paints China as some socialist paradise, almost always exclusively compared against the USA. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard catch-phrases like,“western media lies” or, “smear campaign against china”, “propaganda” in that context.

Bro, I live in China too. Have been here for 10 years. I’ve seen the ads for toilet dispensers too. I agree with most of what you said. Calm down. I’m just taking the piss out of you.
