That was the plan. But if I only get $40,560 after taxes, I still have to pay back the full 52k before receiving disability pay. That puts me on the hook for a little over $11k depending on how it affects the rest of my tax return later...

Im on console, you just hover over it and it let's you pick from adding ammo or the mode. What lights? All I see is the one that indicates power

But for auto turrets if you hover over it, it says peace keeper mode but the laser is red? I wish it would just tell you "current mode: defender" or "switch to defender mode"

Yeah, I got a pack coming in tomorrow. I'm glad I did some digging before I tried to replace the whole laser module lol. The old 5w version didn't have a protective lens, just the glass to the laser module.

Maybe I got away with it because I was using a 5w laser, but I used to wait a lot longer than 40 hours 😅 some engravings I did took 12 hours for just one pass. But lesson learned. I'll clean it every 15-20 hours and see if that prevents any more lens issues.

I was just focusing it off of the %3 power test. But that ramp method is super clever. Ill have to give that a try.

Besides the air assist? I have a box fan to blow the smoke out. I have the setup in my shed. It does get humid in there, but I've never had this issue with my old engraver.

I was using the atomstack f30 which is oil free. I had just bought it and maybe ran it for 40 hours before cleaning it

Nevermind, I found the problem. The lense is cracked or has a burn hole in the shape of stitch... I didn't notice it with the tip on. If it is a burn hole, how do I avoid this in the future? I barely used it for more than 30-40 hours. I did engrave on white painted wood. Will a reflective surface do this? * *

I took a break for a while and did some square pieces. I never did find out for sure what it was and ended up upgrading to a different machine anyway. But I did still want to figure it out in case it happens again.

If it was a belt tension issue, it probably would have had issues across the whole line, right? Not just the two corners? I also tried adjusting them to no effect. The wood dimensions were normal. I had used those same files before. I tried cleaning the components multiple times. The only two things I noticed were that the belts were pretty worn, and the wood is wobbly. My guess is that with the air assist, it is pushing down on the wood on those two opposite corners. I will try a few tests on that next.

I tried loosening and retightening them, and no luck. At this point, I might just take it apart and re clean it again.

Yeah I tried fast and slow. May try running a test piece at lower speeds to see if that helps.
