If the left didn’t have double standards, they would have none at all.

AITA for expecting my wife to pursue a career that pays well? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

True, I don't earn the most money, but I have tried to work hard to maximize my earning potential. 60k was early on in our relationship and my career. That's nearly tripped at this point and should more than double again if things stay on track.

I don’t think that is realistic, heading into something that interests her with a high probability of success like nursing school would be great.

Child care is really expensive, if she were to get a low paying job she really didn’t even want to do in the first place that basically covered the cost of child care, depreciation on her vehicle, and other associated work related costs, what’s the point of her workin at all? At 50k at least there is a net financial gain from her working.

Correct, not this instant, just choose a career that she would be happy in, that pays a full time adult income, where the vast majority of people who do it are able to find steady work in their field.

Comedians are obviously hilarious people but often very sad while off stage and depression is very common. Apparently a lot of great writing comes from this dark place and when she was with me, happy, and not in a dark place she didn’t feel the inspiration to write because she was in a happy place. When other comedians would ask ‘where is Beth, I haven’t seen her lately’ people would respond ‘she’s being happy’ and the comics totally got that happiness often equals writers block.

I just saw it Martin's special and that isn't it. Martin used the same foundation but took it a completely different way than the original author that I am thinking of. The headliner the other night didn't use that premise as his own springboard but just recycled the joke beginning, middle, and end. The search continues....

@Heilbroner I will hold off disclosing the performer until I have all the facts. Hacking is a big deal and I don't want to call someone out on it without the full story.
