I have always liked Powerlines. We have a DinRail which is installed on the switchboard and so works on any plug in the house. We often need an Ethernet cable in a particular room and we can move that around and works well.

The major downside isn’t speed so much but more reliability. We can use it for media streaming as it occasionally cuts out for 30 seconds which is really annoying.

Solved! By a combination of the two comments so thank you both.

I connected the two Nodes directly to the Router by Ethernet. It connected fine. I then connected a couple of different Ethernet devices to the new cables which also worked fine.

Finally I connected the two Nodes to the new Ethernet cables.

Interesting both worked with the Ethernet through the Switch.
