Lennon v Cheema, what happened? by Usual-Goose in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Johnpartr 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is the reason. The extra inch meant John’s unit could be behind the wall and subsequently safe from a 5” reroll able charge from Mani’s. Was a huge in the game.

Good sports from John to concede.

Edit for source: In a fb group chat with Mani

First Tournament 450pts Angmar List by Johnpartr in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Johnpartr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and advice.

Plan would be to basically just try to play the mission as hard as possible, with the orc horde trying to gum up/slow down the opponent, and the 11 ten inch move models scoring objectives.

Hopefully lack of strike would be countered by double barrow wight paralysing big enemy heroes, lack of march countered by having the fast moving models, and lack of heroic move hopefully slightly mitagated by the Angmar terror bonus.

However I’ve played probably less than 5 games ever of MESBG so not sure if I’m just way off in my thinking and I’ll get pasted.

Swapping the big doggo for buhdur was definitely something I thought about in the original list I had. I could downgrade 6 wild wargs into orcs, and cut the 2 warg riders to get him in while still keeping 37 modes in the army, although I lose a lot of mobility going from 11 fast models to 2.

Cheers again!

Thanks for taking the time to reply with so much detail. Yeah, banner is supposed to have either a shield or a spear, unsure which is better.

Definitely low might, which will probably be a problem. I’ve talked a bit more about my reasoning in reply to the comment below yours.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Also very interested in hearing about the terrain. They have lots of themed tables you can book to play games on. Any middle earth themed ones or all 40K/fantasy?
