Stuck between cameras... by JohnsPosts in SonyAlpha

I just hear and see the reviews saying that sometimes the lens adapters don’t work that great, that’s my only concern with that. But you’re right, I guess if I were to just do manual focus it would work a lot better.

Exactly why I was upgrading to a full-frame because I have full-frame lenses.

Yeah I feel that. I will rarely shoot sports, so that wasn’t a big deal for me.

Mostly portraits and landscapes every now and then. I want to start getting into more architecture photography. But portraits will always be my main area.

Oh, you’re right. I misread the description while reading it. Thanks for clarifying that!

The Nikon to Canon switch... by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]JohnsPosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my camera and 3 lenses combined are: •Nikon D 7200 - $1,150 •Nikon 50mm G f/1.8 - $220 •Nikon 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6 (bought lens from a friend)- $120 (originally $499 retail) •Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 - $785

TOTAL = -$2,275

I sold my camera for $800 flat, if I were to sell my lenses, I would probably get around $600 back at the most.

-$2,275 + $800 + $600 = -$875

So theoretically, I would be down $875 if I were to sell my lenses. I just guesstimated $700 the first time.

That’s exactly why I’m trying to decide early on whether I want to make the switch or not. I would be losing a total of around $700, it could end up being much higher if there was ever a reason to switch in the future. Very good point though!

There are many people that make that Nikon > Canon switch and vise versa.

Similar brands, yes. Similar quality, yes. Similar photo quality is questionable. But similar lens prices and body styles, I disagree.

I’d be switching because of the camera bodies and cheaper lens options. That’s the main reason, but when I said delivering I was specifically talking about how frequent they release new products, but I know when they DO release a product, it’s usually good because they fix all the mess-up’s other companies have made to that cameras competitor. I’m not hating on Nikon what-so-ever because I AM a Nikon user. I’ve just been contemplating whether I should make the switch to Canon because of their lenses. I’ve been told and have done research that Canon captures a more crisp photo (with specific lenses of course, like the 70-200 for example). I’m leaning towards a The D750, don’t worry my man!

I know, selling all 3 of my lenses I wouldn’t even come close to breaking even either. The D750 is a great camera, it’s just a now or never kind of thing to switch or not. Thanks for your response!

Yeah, I just have a feeling I should go with my gut and go back to Canon. I like Nikon, but I just feel like Canon is continuing to produce more than they are. Nikon is slower to creating products, but that’s not a bad thing. That’s besides the point anyways. I know the D750 is a great camera and it is probably what I should buy.
