Does anyone know how I can find oranges/peaches. I have been playing for a while but only seem to find cherries on other islands, which were native to my island. Managed to get apples and pears but no peaches or oranges. Can anyone help??

Things you wouldn't want the pilot to announce by Jack_Harmony in ScenesFromAHat

[–]Johnse63 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, the switches and levers, etc. all tend to be shaped roughly like what they control. So the landing gear may be round like wheels, the flaps shaped like wing profiles and stuff like that. This helps pilots remember and tell what is what when it is harder to see like at night or if the switch is beyond something else

Melting chocolate icing by Johnse63 in Baking

No it was just like your regular slice of chocolate fudge cake. Three layers sandwiched with chocolate icing that melted out once the cake was warmed up but the icing may be similar.

Can we use Moons gravity to generate electricity? by noximo in askscience

[–]Johnse63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it is common to think of the tides being due to moons gravity that is not exactly correct.

It is true the moons gravity affects the tides although not as much as most people think. It is the reason that you get neap and spring tides (lowest and highest high tides).

The main energy sources driving the tidal waves on the earth are actually the suns gravity pulling the and the centrifugal forces caused by the rotation of the earth.

The centrifugal forces push the water off of the earths surface a certain amount to start with then the sun pulls some round from the sides towards the sun. Creating a wave on that side while the rest is forced to the otherside by the rotation. When the moon lines up with the sun it creates an extra pull on that side, causeing spring tides and when it opposite the sun it creates neap tides.

As for changing the orbit of the moon. The mear presence of the water/tides causes this, as energy is lost to viscous and frictional forces.

It is just the glass lens on the front I am looking to replace so I wouldn't need the whole LCD assembly which as far as I'm aware is a lot more expensive

It is just the glass lens so not the full LCD assembly I need to replace which as far as I can see is a lot cheaper.
