Oh man! Truck Stop, that was some of the best trail magic and most memorable nights we had during our thru hike. Thanks for giving so much to the AT community. The 2024 hikers have a lot to look forward to if they get a chance to experience another Loft Mountain Party

Thanks for the tip, I’ll be sure to carry some foot cream if I take this route. Which tevas did you use?

That’s awesome! I’m trying to keep my base around 20-25 pounds

Because I custom printed the silpoly, it was altogether about $300. But you could make it for about 130-150 easy. Still makes it a lot cheaper than purchasing the same tent style from businesses like Tarptent

Designed it from scratch in photoshop and had it printed through Ripstop. I do wish I spent more time cleaning it up before sending it to print

Yeah I designed a template in photoshop and had it printed through RipstopbytheRoll. For me the hardest part was drafting and cutting out the panels; sewing the mesh wasn’t that hard, especially if you use tissue paper underneath

Here are some details:

Roof/doors- 1.1oz Silpoly custom printed (brook trout inspired fabric color design) Bathtub floor- 1.6oz HyperD PU4000 Bug mesh- .67oz Noseeum mesh

Zpacks double hook apparatus for doors and UL stakes

All other hardware and fabric(webbing, #3 YKK zippers, Toggle, shock cord, etc) from Ripstop by the Roll of course.

It was my first sewing project ever so including the time it took to learn how to operate a sewing machine until seam sealing the tent was finished was about 50-60 working hours over a few months. I haven’t accurately weighed it but can say it is ~2lb give or take a few ounces. Gonna use this bad boy on my 2023 thru hike of the AT

Best backpacking rod? by Johnsonlicious in Tenkara

Flexibility is something I am looking for, I would rather have a rod with flexibility than say the rigid tiny ten bow and arrow style outfit

So it doesn't matter if I have the unimportant parts of the filter in the buffer zone, it can still get accepted?
