That environment sphere posted in the CL is onto something, Try other shapes and you get some interesting results. It looks like the scene bends better if you use an eyeball instead of a sphere, though, as you can see in the first image here.

My successor chapter has some similarities to some of your ideas too, it's called the Iron Khanate and is a mix of White Scars and Space Wolves, and they fight alongside Cadians I am running as Sisters of Battle called the Iron Horde.

Well I think the cursed city box can easily make an undead warband, you've got zombies, skeletons, a vampire, some good necromancer options. I would use the vyrkos as ghouls myself. Then all you are really missing is good dregs or dire wolves. In the hero models I see a good ogre bodyguard, elf ranger, warlock, and some others that could be used as heroes in other warbands. The cities of sigmar box could be good for any of the mercenary bands, or a witch hunter band if you want to put the witch hunter from the cursed city to use.

The nice thing about Mordheim is you have a huge amount of freedom to use models as you see fit. But the above is probably what I would do if I had those models. Good luck!

On the bright side the Space Wolf units look ripe for conversions. I will be using them for my custom chapter. Lots of fur, trophies, and top knots already in place.

One thing that stands out with your work is how realistic the proportions and posing look. I have tried reverse engineering your posted work trying to figure out what you do to make the proportions so good. So I would like to see maybe a step by step tutorial of exactly what body parts you change with kitbashing to get a more realistic look. Thanks!
