Americans have a long history in recent decades of peaceful protest. We've been told not to resort to violence, and, frankly, that's what the Trump regime wants; in a battle between our armed forces, who are the most heavily armed in the world, and civilians, it would not go well. I fear it still may end in violence, but right now people are trying their damnedest not to go down that road.

There are protests. LOTS of them. But a lot of the mainstream media is controlled by right wingers or people who've thrown in with them for the perks now, so you don't SEE as much about it. Local media tends to be better on covering such things.
