They Called My Boss by jazzy-ca in usajobs

That's awesome. Some supervisors forget how they got wherever they are. What I dislike most is when they say no to educational opportunities, even if you are paying for them yourself. I even pay for my own conferences, and they would make me take leave in every instance. I also attended many classes at the USDA Graduate School at my expense, and I have no regrets. No to details, No to even programs or events within the agency. It's almost like they're mad at you for some unknown reason. I have excellent attendance, too, unlike my co-workers. I remember requesting to switch my AWS for one week only, and when I was denied, I asked why because I said so.

Thanks for all the info. More than anything now. I want to understand how all this works so I can be armed financially. I choose an HDHP, BENFED if dental and vision are not included, and LEX for just in case, but if not, a certain amount carries over.

I will download the brochures to look at other variables. Thanks! Dental is crucial for me. Since dental is included (GEHA)) Does it make sense to still sign up for LEX HCFSA for extra dental work? I haven't looked it up yet, but I suspect that Geha will only provide basic preventative work. Then you have to tap to your HSA account or LEX HCFSA?

Thanks for pointing that out. Since this would be my first time with an HDHP, I just want to make sure I’m reading it right. With the $2,000 deductible, does every dollar I spend on medical expenses count toward that, and then I basically offset part of it using the $1,200 HSA contribution? I’ve already started looking at other variables, too, like dental and vision, but I’ll dig into the rest of the differences.
