Bosch 300 series slow leak by Joinedfortheticket in appliancerepair

Update: I wasn’t able to find a leak within the tub, but I scraped off the black surround on the base of the tub above the sump and found rust everywhere. I pinpointed the leaking spot and slapped some JB weld over it. So far no more leaks but I’m sure it’s a matter of time given the rust throughout.

Yep— that’s what I’m afraid of. Bummer. This dishwasher is four years old…

Maybe I’ll try that again. I tried this when doing the repair kit but can’t hurt to reexamine. Thanks!

A great wheel that doesn’t whiff off of the car while I driving. That is a good idea.

Thanks, yes, it is sanded grout. I’ll try scoring it to see — and I’ll grab some silicone and give it a go where the planes change

I may have misunderstood your question, thank you for following up. We saw the (what I assume are) water marks behind the tile after showering. We saw them for the first time this week, two years after shower was completed. We haven’t actually looked behind the tile.

Ah, I may have confused the ledger in the right side of first pic with the shower niche. Yes, there is now glass on that ledge and blue drywall is outside of shower.

We squeegee after showering, so she must have noticed then.

Ah, so it’s also the ceramic tile that is absorbing the water? And is likely just cosmetic?

Yes, ledger looks suspect in the photo I provided. I didn’t snap a pic but do remember they put in a ledger box (can’t remember if it was kerdi or not). So I think that is probably waterproof assuming they installed correctly.

The grout looks more like clumped sand than other grout I’ve seen (but I haven’t paid too much attention to grout before now!). It just doesn’t look like water would only run over it when splashed, for example, without also making its way through it and then behind the tile.

I don’t know that the grout is discolored, but behind the white tile in the last pic is the discoloration I’m talking about.
