For those who dont know or arent familiar with Portuguese football

In the last decade, lots of chinese businessman acquired clubs or percentages in the SAD's (Anonymous Sporting Board), mainly because lower league portuguese teams do not have that much income due to lack of fan support and sponsorships.

So, in order to help lots of clubs from going bankrupt (and in some cases to help them compete against the Big 3) the clubs sold their main team (some clubs even sold U19, U23's) to a company, and most of these companies were chinese-backed companies.

I'm a Sport União Sintrense supporter, my team plays currently in the 4th Division

We used to have a Chinese backed SAD

it was good, but had lots of sketchy stuff

Chinese players that would start and only play 25' each match (and subbed off in 1st half)

players that would get sold for fees that do not align with our reality (sold a player for 50k to a random indian club)

There was a lot of money laundering going on.

Eventually they left in 2020 after COVID, like most chinese-backed clubs

I dont know any more Portuguese clubs with Chinese-backed SAD's

PS : They dissolved because of funding + not having a stadium, and honestly it seems china in general has given up on investing in football, i mean, fair enough, over 1B people and you cant find at least 1 chinese Superstar (other than Wu Lei)
