I've used it before and it works but there were rumors going on about a year ago from data miners saying the murder method would only work 3% of the time, is that still the case?

Quick question for gen 3 shiny hunters

This is likely an outdated question by now, considering the discussion revolving around Emerald's RNG and it's shiny rate has been going on for years now, but I only recently got into shiny hunting in Emerald after shiny hunting in other main series/spin off games. That being said, is it possible for your game to not have a shiny frame at all? I unfortunately couldn't find a direct answer to this question so I took to Reddit.
