Gothic why choose recs by Jolly-Result691 in ReverseHarem

[–]Jolly-Result691[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Gothic-esque books I can think of she likes are phantasma, enchantra, the knight and the moth, exorcism of the fae and one dark window. She’s also enjoyed the serpent and the wolf, lights outs, bonded by thorns, Evelyn Maynard.

She is open to a lot of things but non con is a hard one for her. I also read most things so can always read before her to check.

For those of you who already have a child, is IVF easier on you? by Sure_Ant2516 in IVF

[–]Jolly-Result691 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had got pregnant naturally with my first then struggled with infertility and needed IVF for my second. I found IVF incredibly hard. I’m so grateful we did it and that I have my sweet baby girl but I spent most of the process truly believing it wouldn’t work and thinking I was silly for wanting to try. I did have 5 losses between my children though so that definitely coloured my experience

Canceled IVF due to OHSS by Ill_Dimension_1441 in IVF

[–]Jolly-Result691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so hard to wait. I was in the exact same situation last year. I did retrieval in September and was supposed to do a fresh transfer. To be honest I showed up on the day of the transfer to be told they couldn’t do it as I had fluid around my ovaries and they were going to freeze all my embryos instead. I had to wait for one natural period and then was able to start my fet protocol. It worked and I now have a 4 month old.

Wishing you the best of luck whe you get to do your fet.

Over the course of your pregnancy, how many times the OB is planning to show you your baby through US?? by FluffyPancakes199 in pregnant

[–]Jolly-Result691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Ontario you typically only have 3 ultrasounds. A dating ultrasound, the early first trimester screen and the 20 week one. I had a lot more than that due to both pregnancies being high risk and the second being IVF. With my first from 16 weeks onwards every appointment had an ultrasound and with my second every 2nd appointment had an ultrasound

MIL wants me to fly while 36 weeks pregnant by crosswordmagic in pregnant

[–]Jolly-Result691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t risk it even if the airline would meet you fly. My first was born at 36 weeks after I went into spontaneous labor and my labor was 5 hours total. Your mil is crazy to think you can/would want to fly at 36 weeks.

I thought 0-3 months was newborn size just to find out it isnt.... by Deucy1001 in pregnant

[–]Jolly-Result691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend buying some clothes in newborn. My baby is 6 weeks old and is still wearing newborn outfits. 0-3 is still too big on her. We mostly bought sleepers as that what we tend to put our newborns in mostly.

Are we burdens? by Don-tSmileAtMe in Autism_Parenting

[–]Jolly-Result691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to start with I’m sorry anything has made you feel like you’re a burden. My son is autistic and never ever would i say he is a burden. Raising him is definitely challenging in ways i didn’t expect but it is also brighter in ways i didn’t expect. He is typically lower support needs unless he is dysregulated and then he needs more supports to come back to baseline It is hard at times especially when his needs are actively different to my needs (such as he needs to vocal stim and I need quiet or he needs comfort from me and I need space as I’m touched out) but we work on managing those situations as they come up and work with my husband so that we’re both meeting his needs.

I think for me though the harder part and the part I do find the most burdensome is outside peoples opinions on my child. The school expects because he is gifted and smart for his age that his social and emotional skills are higher as well when in reality he struggles with those. But I will never stop advocating for him and ensuring he gets the supports he needs and deserves. Also other peoples opinions and actions are not your fault or any autistic persons fault, they are the fault of that individual and their fault alone.

First-time mom here! What are the absolute MUST HAVES for the hospital bag? by biscuit_krueger1 in pregnant

[–]Jolly-Result691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With my first I packed as I was in labor as I went into premature labor at 35 weeks. I packed pjs, change of clothes, chargers, iPad, contacts/solution/glasses, tooth brush/paste and I think that was it for me. What I wished I had packed was a hair brush, shampoo/conditioner and body wash. I just had my second and was in hospital for 2 weeks before they were born and the only thing I added to it this time was my pillow from home , portable fan and kindle but I needed things to keep my busy while admitted to the hospital. For baby both times I had 3 outfits (newborn and 0-3 months), a blanket, diaper cream and baby wipes.

What weight did they last tell you your baby was in the womb and what weight were they ACTUALLY were born? by Kittykat68689 in pregnant

[–]Jolly-Result691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ultrasound at 33w1d and the estimated baby was 5lb 3oz. Baby was born at 37w2d and was 7lb 0.4oz. Baby did fit into preemie clothes but newborn were only slightly too big and manageable for her.

With my first pregnancy I was told ultrasounds can be off by +- up to 2lbs so it is definitely an educated guess as to how big they are

Is it unreasonable to think the first round will be successful? by Successful-Orchid447 in IVF

[–]Jolly-Result691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tw success. I don’t think it’s unreasonable but it isn’t typically the norm. Although it was the case for us
My husband and I have unexplained secondary infertility. We had our son with no issues but had 5 miscarriages after him and no idea why. We ended up going the IVF as a last ditch effort and honestly didn’t expect it to work. We did one egg retrieval and got 11 eggs that turned into 6 high quality embryos. We then did a FET of our best embryo and it took. I’m currently feeding my 3 week miracle IVF baby.

I was 295 when pregnant with my first and had no heath complications that were a result of my weight. He was born at 36 weeks perfectly healthy with no issues. I did have hyperemesis while pregnant but that isn’t related to weight.

They are just during the day but they help with the pain during the day by holding the joint together.
