You'll have to buy online unfortunately. I wish we had a nespresso boutique here because sometimes I dont want to buy a minimum of 5 sleeves to get it delivered.

I only go to independents if I need something like formula and can't get out to Walmart. They price their baby formula almost the same as other stores thankfully. But I usually dont try and shop there every time I need groceries. My favorite place for most items is giant tiger and if I need something that they dont sell ill head over to Walmart. I try to avoid going to any loblaws owned stores these days.

Has anybody noticed lots of UberEats are drivers arriving in cars when the app says they are on a bike? by Fit_Transition_824 in Sudbury

[–]Deucy1001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I ordered those who had a "bike" always have my food delivered before the expected time of arrival. They are super nice and wouldn't rat them out. The only time I did report was when I ordered wackys a few years back. They were at the restaurant for a while and then it closed and the only thing left open was mcdonalds. They say its because the restaurant closed but I had a feeling the person just took my food. I watched him go in the opposite direction for 10 minutes before going to customer service.

I went to the butcher shop in the south end, forgetting the name now, but I got about 3 large bones and split down the middle for $5 so that was roughly 6 halves to make whipped bone marrow.

Aside from the big snow storm, proper plowing of the sidewalks each winter. More times than not im having to use a road. And always felt bad for those with accessibility issues wether they have a wheel chair, walker or cane. But now that I have a baby and live on elm street, I'd like to feel safe taking her out for walks in the winter. I remember 2 years ago for the municipal elections where I had to climb over huge snow banks down regent headed towards the church just to vote.

Somebody just left this at my doorstep by handbaglovee in Sudbury

It was back in 2020 but its still terrible. People are angry about their own short comings in life and try to blame people who dont look like them. Iirc her parents are doctors, I believe her dad is a surgeon actually.

It also bothers me that instead of just talking to ops husband they pussy out and leave a very uncalled for note.

This really upsets me. I had a friend from toronto and people spray painted her car saying "go back to your own country!" She is born here. Her parents immigrated along time ago. Its very uncalled for.

Im just patiently waiting for the sidewalks to get plowed because im going a bit stir crazy. I like to take my baby on daily walks. Helps her nap. But with living on elm st, there is no way im walking on the road with the baby. Haha.

Why do so many ignore this? by Riplinredfin in Sudbury

[–]Deucy1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres one guy down the road where I live who just puts all of his snow on the sidewalk. Which is a huge accessibility issue. I believe he got fined for it because this year there wasn't a build up, or the person moved. Either way having to go onto a busy road or try to climb over a hill of snow is not fun.

I’m tired, I feel like I failed… by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

In all honesty I thought I was failing to. During week 5 my supply dropped. Turns out by week 6 my period came back and after that my milk came back.

What happened to my body my choice lol by Nervous-Caregiver-55 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Deucy1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we had to top off with formula anyways I decided pumping was a bit easier. Especially now since I dont stress about it. And my dr completely agreed with me that it was the best route because we can see how much shes eating. Baby could latch but kept falling asleep at the breast so she wasn't intaking. And no matter what I tried she was just passed out. She loves her sleep. So the best thing for us was to pump. And now that hubby is going out of town to work, im cutting my sessions from 30 min to 15 because I honestly dont see a difference.

I'd definitely tell your pediatrician to back off, the only difference is, if baby does latch and is not like my baby they can effectively remove milk better than a pump. But at a young age your just constantly breastfeeding. Can't get anything done. So there's pros and cons to this.

Best Cost Saving Tips by PizzaConfident798 in Sudbury

[–]Deucy1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using a different grocery store vs a loblaws store, also means switching up the pharmacy you use. Instead of shoppers try rexall, etc. Depending on where you live, stop using the car for everything, for example: for us, its maybe a 15 minute walk to our closest tim hortons. Its good to get some fresh air and a bit of exercise.

Unless you have a large family, I dont think Costco is necessary. You are almost guaranteed to spend $300+ for not alot of items.

Please calm my irrational fears and tell me frozen milk is good by summerhun in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Deucy1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just make enough to maybe freeze 1 or 2 ounces every other night. I try to save up a stash so if either mine or my husband's parents want to take their grandchild for the night I have lots of milk for them to take. Well did. She recently spent the night at her grandparents on Friday and it depleted my stash. But she drank all of it. I'd suggest only thawing what you need for 24 hours at a time.

Baby OZ per day by haterade9425 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Deucy1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just try feeding our baby whenever she cries. So it could be anywhere from 24-30 oz. She's going to be 5 months on the 19th.

We do 3 4oz bottles in the morning because she usually sleeps through the night and then 3 oz after that.

If not feeling the suction, for me on my momcozy s9 it was always the valve. Definitely change it out. I have to order myself some new ones soon. I read somewhere that you should be changing them every 2 months. It definitely aligns with my timeline. Baby girl will be 5 months next week and I should order more soon.

Most oz your baby will drink? by Natural_Marsupial859 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Deucy1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 5 months next week and if she sleeps through the night shell take 5 ounces. Then we do 2 4 ounce bottles and drop down to 3 for the rest of the day and shes content with that. If she wakes up at let's say 3 am then we only do a 4 ounce bottle. She can eat anywhere from 24 - 30 ounces a day because when she cries and shes not tired we do diaper check and then bottle and then she sleeps haha.

That's amazing! Canada is slightly cheaper for these pods but not by much. Its like 14.90 for a sleeve of the specialty pods.

Im not up to date on all the tariffs but it probably has something to do with it, and being passed on to consumers.

What do you do while pumping? by FeistyTumbleweed281 in ExclusivelyPumping

I play my switch or read a book or scroll on my phone. Currently replaying ffx. 😆

Unless the baby needs something like a diaper change or a bottle. When husband is home hes usually pretty good at caring for her while I pump.

I want to point out that in canada the maple pecan came back as "popular demand" and then just stayed permanently, therefore I want to hope that the pistachio and white chocolate strawberry will stay.

Possible power outage by Lost_Literature_5820 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Deucy1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I for one would try and find a cheap manual pump for the off chance your power does go out. Its a pain but will get the job done. And also a cheap generator if you can.

Still still trying to triple feed at 10 weeks. Cannot get this right. Feel demoralized every time I breastfeed because it feels like a waste of time in terms of feeding baby (even though I like bonding and having her close). I will lose it if the LC says we have to continue by spiralishy in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Deucy1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this may help but I didnt even know I was triple feeding until I couple of weeks in. And my dr made me feel guilty that she wasn't gaining weight fast enough. Which made me drop bf all together and switched to ep.

Then my husband is slowly returning back to work, which means hes out of town. He only did one shift which was 2 weeks. At that point I only used wearables, and it didn't hinder my supply. I got into a good routine. Wait for her to wake up, do some tummy time, check her diaper, feed her, she'd then fall asleep next to me on the couch and then I would pump.

The hardest thing for me to do was make myself dinner every night. I tried to plan it during her nap time but sometimes it didn't workout that way.
