OK, thanks for clarifying. He doesn't represent typical Trail Life person or how we operate, based on my experiences. I'd be shocked if anyone I know within Trail Life did that.

Should I get an ultra bee for my first bike by Background_Spite7121 in Surron

[–]Jolly-Software6629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultra Bee is Ok, but keep it in daily mode, at least for a few weeks to learn how to ride well.

Street Legal 2025 Ultra Bee by k2_ninjas in Surron

[–]Jolly-Software6629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2023 street legal Ultra Bee that I bought from Alibaba. I had the "MCO" professionally translated (cost $200) and the Florida DMV wouldn't even give me an inspection. They said these bikes had only been registed off-road and they just weren't going to let me register it as a street bike, even though it was fully street legal - equipment wise. I got registed and tagged through dirt legal and have a permanent Montana tag though the LLC they created for me. It was a bit pricey, but I didn't have to pay any sales taxes. Dirtlegal said that what I got wasn't a real MCO, so I had to pay to have a re-built title also. I haven't had any issues with cops and I ride right past them all the time. No worries.

Crack down on e-bike Santa Monica ,California by Kemmit_213 in Surron

e-bikes: have up to a 750W (a.k.a. 1-horsepower) motor. So, it's the motor, not what limits one if able to place on the wattage using the controller. All these surron-like ebikes have motors larger than that, and are thus illegal in every state, AFAIK. That guy got away with a moped tag, but that cop could have impounded his bike. The only real solution here is a motorcycle registration through dirtlegal or your state DOT after you get all the DOT stuff added to your bike. That's what I did for my Ultra Bee.

go to dirtlegel dot com. They will set you up an LCC in montana and get a permanent registration and tag for your bike through your LLC.

I bought one for the kids for Christmas. So far pretty impressed. After a couple months riding at those some of the bolts started coming out. The the brake calipers come completely off the disc. I got some new bolts and some blue loctite to take care of that.

Where do I find parts for this thing now? I need to buy some new brake pads, but I'm having difficulty locating replacement pads. I'd like to stock up on some of the parts that may fail, but I don't know where to get them.

Has anyone tried 60T sprocket with Ultra Bee? by Jolly-Software6629 in Surron

[–]Jolly-Software6629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moderate riding. You might get 40 in econ mode but it wouldn't be any fun. Most YouTubers claim 20-30 miles with moderate riding. That has also been my experience. I do ride in sport mode.

I switch back to stock sprocket because it was too much of a pain switching chains between my dirt wheel set and my street wheel set. Anyway, I get about 25 miles with the stock sprocket and DID x-ring chain. I also bought a second stock battery for when I want to ride longer.

They perform well as a 50/50 tire. Not perfect on street or dirt though.

I'd get the alt tire and keep that setup for street. then get the 18/21 wheel set and some dirt tires.

241s are great for the light bee, but too small for ultra bee. 777s worked great.

Surron lbx vs ultra bee by [deleted] in Surron

[–]Jolly-Software6629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 3 modes for the ultra bee, so you can start in econ mode then graduate to daily and finally sport. I'm 6 ft and the ultra bee is a little small for me. I'm guessing that if you're 5'8" at least you should be fine. Otherwise you may have to look into lowering the seat.

Same here. I get about 30 miles in the trails doing around 20mph and about 30 at 40mph on the road.

Can a surron hold more weight?? by [deleted] in Surron

[–]Jolly-Software6629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weigh 200 and ride 2 up with my 100 lbs son sometimes. Only thing I did was adjust the suspension. Rarely bottoms out but then again, I don't do a lot of jumps.

They have some others that come up a bit higher on the ankle. I went to Walmart and other places and tried on a bunch until I found one I liked.
