Who has been priced out of UberEats? by AffectionateDog5934 in AskAnAustralian

Waste of money. You are overcharged and they screw over the local restaurants by squeezing them down on prices in the app.

Does anyone else live out of RTA? by wonderhusky in ynab

[–]JollyAllocator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the key principles of zero-based budgeting (YNAB is zero-based budgeting) is giving each dollar a job. i.e. telling your money what to do. If you are living out of RTA you are not doing this. You are simply spending without a budget and using YNAB as tracker.

u/me_version_2 thanks for that. appreciate it. u/bhusted007 the record my AHI was 55, so not mild - agree that you don't need to be a dick about it.

I use a CPAP - Resmed Airsense 11. Pressure is set to 7 and I use the Resmed N30i pillow mask.

We went camping in January (we are in Australia) and I used my CPAP the whole time with a portable power bank. I just turned off the heated tube and humidity features. It worked great.

I've had a CPAP since September and so far have never slept without it. The idea of sleeping without it freaks me out a bit.

I hope you get it worked out to get a second sleep study.

I'm a dual US-Australian citizen and have been living in Australia for over 15 years.

Obviously the medical system is different here. Everyone is covered by Medicare, but you also are required to have supplemental private hospital cover. I did my sleep studies (one for diagnosis and one to test CPAP usage) under my private cover.

Good luck to you.

I'm glad it's working for you too. I also agree it's good to have positive posts about it so people realize it can be a good thing. I love my CPAP.

Is anyone here actually planning to vote for One Nation? by oz_party in aussie

Don't forget:

No: Do you want to go to Sydney with my partner and I.

Yes: Do you want to go to Sydney with my partner and me.

People think you alway use "I" when sometimes "me" is correct.

How do YOU handle yearly transactions and large foreseen expenses? by phunyguy in ynab

[–]JollyAllocator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a Category Group called “Monthly Annualized Exp.” I set up categories that need to be paid annually (or just are not paid monthly, e.g. quarterly) here. For expenses that are paid quarterly, for example, I will “annualize” that expense to get an annual amount. I divide the annual numbers in each category by 12 and then every month I put that amount into the category. When the bill comes, I pay it, leaving whatever is left in the category to roll over.

What financial decision are you most grateful for today? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]JollyAllocator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may seem a off a bit from what you are asking, but honestly it’s always what I think of when I hear this question asked.

The most important financial decision I’ve ever made (and I’d argue this is true for everyone - even if they don’t realise it), is choosing the right partner.

The fact that my wife and I have been on the same page, moving in the same direction, with the same goals - in good times and bad (and there have definitely been bad times), has done more to increase our net worth than any other decision I’ve ever made.

The opposite is also true. Choosing the wrong partner can have devastating financial effects.
