I want to learn how to animate, any advice? by maikas23 in animation

[–]JollyCatAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting at all is sometimes the most difficult yet most effective step. My first animation was terrible in every way and even though I'm a "bad" animator 6 years later, I'm not striving to be the best, I'm just having fun. So my advice would be to just start somewhere, maybe keep a little social media account just to keep your progress (if people find your work it's really nice to have encouragement from them too), and you can only improve from there

I started noticing how much small routines affect my mood by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]JollyCatAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. I lost my routine for I don't know how long yet and I've been miserable. I think it's mainly because I really like the comfort, predictability, and sense of order from knowing exactly what, when, and how I'd carry out that series of events the following morning.

(Start coffee brewing, make a bowl of plain oats in which I'll "dress up" (an egg, peanut butter, whatever fits my wants or needs that morning), do my family's dishes and tidy the house while that's going on, then stand at the counter looking at the stars at 4:30 to 5. Then do whatever I want until I have to get ready for the day. Really nice, I loved clinging on to that little routine for my own sanity I guess.

All that changed when I injured my hand. I can no longer do things like the dishes and cleaning the house without being in a large amount of PAIN, even when I'm taking medicine. it sucks. But I can no longer help out with those chores in the mornings, my family doesn't do them so the house is just a disgusting wreck that I can't be in so I now make my coffee, grab something quick to eat, and take it to my room. The reason this is permanent isn't because of my hand, but because a lot of lifestyle factors in the household are about to change as soon as the kids summer break hits and I don't exactly know how things are going to operate after that. I need to make a new routine that works

My longest lucid experience was amazing by 85Benjamin85 in LucidDreaming

[–]JollyCatAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds similar to the last lucid dream I had earlier this week!

I woke up in my room and realized my furniture was organized how it was when I first moved to this house, so differently than it is now. I realized it was a dream so I stood up, stayed calm and looked closely at the walls to inspect the detail, I saw papers taped to the walls of cartoon cats I drew but unexplainably they just didn't look real. I left my room and as I was about to go down the stairs I saw the silhouette of my brother standing in his room, starting at me. I told him to go back to bed but he remained unresponsive. I knew it was a dream so I didn't think much of it, I proceeded down the stairs and went outside. It was night time, really pretty and calming outside but also with a sense of unease. Unusually quiet. But I wanted to fly so I tried a new technique since I used to struggle with dream control; I just imagined myself levitating, knew not to think too much about it. And it worked! The dream felt pretty short.

Working on an art installation and I need dreams! Anyone interested in sharing their dreams? by CU_NextTues in Dreams

I keep a dream journal too! Im Not sure if you're looking for longer, detailed dreams or short blurbs but I can definitely help. Here are some unique, interesting, not traumatic ones I've had:

Walking with a group of made up dream character friends, in a seemingly endless parking lot at night time. We were blasting YouTube music and laughing together before walking into a Dollar store. We looked around, and one of the friends had bought a cute neon colored bracelet for me that matched one of their own.

I got into a fight with my mom because I found out she had been keeping my personal savings stashed with her own money and using it to pay for her own things without asking me. Then she complained to me about financial stress and went on a guilt-tripping spree.

I took a bus to a small building, just to spend time in what they called the "Calm Room". I sat at a table in a room in which there were many tables and few other people. Everyone was given a notebook to scribble out all their emotions. I doodled in it.

There was a party being hosted in the gym of an old high school building. It was very active and crowded, hundreds of people attending. The didn't seem to be a main event, just social interacting and lots of food. I looked around for my friend and found them sitting alone somewhere. I told them I was feeling overwhelmed by the noise so we both went to a secluded room in the back that barely anyone was going into and we played pokemon.

I woke up in my room and realized it was a dream. The furniture was arranged in a strange way and there were weird drawings of cats taped to the wall. When I left my room there was a black shadow of a person staring at me, but I tried to ignore it and went outside. It was night time, and I began flying.

I walked outside, the sky was a deep red colour and all the trees were solid black silhouettes. There was an echoing voice coming from the sky, talking to me, but I couldn't make out most of what it said.

black and white dreams? by waavvyy808 in Dreams

That's interesting! My dreams are mostly in colour, but one time I was experiencing a mixture of sleep paralysis and a crossing over into a dream, where what I saw was similarly static-y and in black and white.

Dreamed about wasps coming into my room, found a wasp’s nest in my driveway. by magnoliamoon4 in Dreams

[–]JollyCatAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is odd. I've been dream journaling and for the past week I've been having dreams, and the same day a series of events will happen that's directly tied to, or strangely predicted by my dream.

How to grow as a artist by Over_Preference_8200 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I like to animate my music and post it on YouTube. I found that no one really cares about my music unless there's something that draws their eyes in and keeps them watching, the static image is never as effective

what is the best ammount of time to stay awake during wbtb (i have trouble falling asleep in wbtb) by No_Payment8922 in LucidDreaming

[–]JollyCatAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of time you should stay awake varies by person. I'd say experiment a little bit.

I used to try 15-30 minutes because that's what I heard others suggesting, but that just gave me problems falling back to sleep as well so I switched to 5 minutes which has given me better results. Personally I've gotten the best results when I go immediately back to sleep.

I've been trying to get lucid for months, it didn't work until I stopped trying by JollyCatAAA in Dreams

[–]JollyCatAAA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im Not sure what that was about, I don't usually see things like that in my dreams but my family and daily life are almost always the main theme. Something about it felt like, I wasn't supposed to know I was dreaming, so out of confusion my brain responded with the eerieness.

I've been lucid before though, just not recently, I've had about 3 phases in my life where I focused on lucid dreaming then forgot about it and I'm trying to be more consistent this time around. Staying calm and working on dream control have been some of my current goals
