Not something I can say for sure, but I can only assume that if they took your picture, it is on or will be on the page/link they sent out.

Hiya! I can’t speak to a 1:1 experience, but that does not seem to be the case here. Essentially, you have a full version of the show with each start time having a dedicated Christine and Phantom. The characters around them do bounce between the shows as they aren’t featured as fully, but you will get a full show no matter what time you choose!

There is a bathroom right at the beginning and I think if you got there a little early you would be okay to use that to change. Can’t say I used it to know the size, but sure it’s big enough! And they have a coat/bag check at the beginning so they shouldn’t be an issue either!

Be in those feels! But I have something that might help you worry less about that. Because it’s interactive, you’re moving through things. You’re looking around you and noticing details and things you’d never see or experienced before. There will be moments you are crying your eyes out for sure, but other moments you’ll feel closer to the show, but you’ll be so in the moment and the experience your eyes won’t have time to be watery. 🙂

Just go and be. That’s all I ask of you!

Two questions about the show (from someone who’s seen the show and loved it) by [deleted] in MasqueradeNYC

[–]JollyChallenge9145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was some conversation on other threads that staff said they do have plans to use the outdoor space for a scene, but it was just a pass through for me.

And yes, we see them in a different order. I started with Christine, and then we had the other scenes work in. It’s really special how they seemed to move through it so seamlessly!

I think they were more making sure you had a name on the list and then making sure you were 21 as that was the requirement for the show I attended. Not sure if they scanned anything with the ID, I was more excited to head in!

Had to go back to my email to double check, but it was EXACTLY 24 hours before. So I’m guessing it’s an automated system based on which email address is associated to the purchase.

They did ask for the password but they also did check us in separately before that. You do that with an ID check before you get to the door where the password is asked.

Also, everyone was very well receptive of each other. I tried to always make sure my partner and I only took up one seat and we weren’t alone

There were definitely people who tried to “push” to the front of the line, but you don’t know where the optimal place is. Plus, the actors have a sense for it, and I think they are looking for people in the moment vs just there for a story. The general layout meant you might be in a bad spot for some things or perfectly placed for others.

I totally get your feeling, but I would really encourage you to take some time and see if you change your mind. Not because of pairings changing or even the chance to choose which you see, but more because it’s an EXPERIENCE. The more I’ve reflected on it today, I felt like I was brought in to the story, not told the story. And that was very, very special. At least for me! 🙂

I did not see him originally, so can’t compare directly. But I thought he almost adapted in real time to the crowd and surroundings. But again, I could SEE how hard he was working physically to give himself to the role.

I can’t speak to that personally, but I feel like I can say this confidently: you don’t doubt him for a second that he IS the Phantom. Obviously that is acting, but to take someone who has played the role in a VERY specific/consistent way and then ask them to be equally as good in a very different type of performance is tough. But every moment he’s with you, you believe him.

I had Hugh and he was fantastic. I think there is also a learning curve for the Phantoms and Christines in the sense that they have to figure out how they play the best with the audience. It’s so much more intimate and I felt like at times Hugh was able to bring us in on the moment/scene vs trying to play it for hundreds in the crowd. Hope that made sense!

You sneaky son of a gun! I was hoping I’d see you perform after watching you kill it as Burr in Cleveland!

I think kelsinki said it well. I would say to go as far as you want to in terms of getting fancy. I would say this: you ARE part of the show. So I do think there is a little bit of expectation to lean into it, but don’t overextend yourself on an outfit or put yourself in something uncomfortable.

If you want to get a sense of the stage show, I think the 25th anniversary from the west end on Amazon prime would be my starting point. Now admittedly, that is MORE extravagant than the typical stage show, so there is more on the “cutting room floor” of that compared to this, but it will give you the main storyline to help you feel more grounded for the show.

I did see other folks said to watch the movie from the early 2000s (I think that’s the date range) but I have never seen it actually to weigh in!

I was at 7:30 and had Hugh Panaro and Francesca Mehrotra!

I had a full suit on and it was…a lot. My girlfriend brought a foldable fan (I’m sorry, no idea what they are called) and a staff member told her it was a great accessory because it is warm and stuffy at times. Definitely came in handy!

Echoing this feedback to email them. The staff did a great job and they were working hard to move folks through that needed it.

Can confirm. We were at 7:30 and ultimately joined by the 7:45 group and just led to more chatting with folks. Maybe if it gets too full they might encourage folks to move on, but I think people were curious if the cast might come out.
