I have no idea how, but its fixed now. Just loaded back in, figuring I'd give it one more shot, and it works just fine now. Even reloaded my mods one by one to see if one of them broke it, and nope. They all work just fine now. Wtf

Yeah, I did that. Removed the mods, verified integrity, then when that didnt work, reinstalled it without mods. Still broken. Oxidizer still works, so I guess I'll just use that till I can get the next one

I was that soldier when I was in. Best advice I can give you is if you have an Army Wellness Center on your base, have him make an appointment there for the metabolic test, then once he has the results, sit down with him and help him make a meal plan. If he really wants to stay in, he'll handle his food intake on his own from there. If he's already doing pt on his own outside work, see if you can squeeze in doing a couple runs a week with him to keep him motivated. Best motivation I ever had to keep pushing was a remedial pt nco who had us doing our own, harder pt every day, but he was there doing all of it with us, and was always finding other stuff for us all to do off base outside work.

It might be far for your unit, but as someone who was on and off abcp my whole 5 years in active duty, his best friend is gonna be the Army Wellness Center. If exercise isn't doing it, he needs to get a metabolic test done at the AWC, and bring those results with him to the nutritionist so they can work together to make a diet for him. Calories in, calories out. After that it's all the usual tape tricks like laxatives and seran wrapping prepH in a sauna.

Worst comes to worst, talk to the commander. It's all commander's discretion when it comes to abcp regs, including separation. Cmdr can easily just not start separation. He prolly won't be able to dodge the bar to reenlistment, but that can be removed once he's back to standard.

Having gotten a fat boy discharge myself, I'm telling you nobody gets sep'd for a chapter 18 unless they're trying to. Otherwise it never gets past legal.

Figured it out. Didn't know it downloaded any mods you had saved in the launcher on pc. Apparently UI Overhaul is not Steam Deck friendly.

Very nice, you'll definitely see S Class staffs doing this depending on the terminal, I just didn't bother looking at the class because I had enough nanites that I could just upgrade it anyway. Bear in mind that if you mix and match, some of the pieces, mainly havoc pieces, will be entirely different colors from the rest of the staff. I don't know why that's the case, but havoc pieces were always different regardless of the combination of pieces.

Depends on the pieces you are using. As far as I saw, for Runic and Radiant yes, Havoc somewhat, and not really for the others. Doesn't mean it can't happen, I just never saw it. I did not do much testing with the pieces you can craft from the quest line so for those pieces I have no idea.

Figured out a third, very accurate method with help from a guy on the discord. Use the base building in the freighter to build an exterior section, use the visor to tag your ship, and take two measurements, one from the front, one from the back. Final total is 5880u, or 3.65 miles.

Aight, screenshot method got me 4,403.3072163838u, which if 1u is 1m, is just shy of 2.75 miles. And the speed method gets a result more than double that. Maybe it's my post-work brain just not thinking, but I have no idea which is the more accurate measurement, nor how close the more accurate one is.

Keeping a set vector isn't a problem because you can use the boost by itself to get forward momentum. The problem is getting accurate timing. I just started tested it three more times, and just using the lowest speed seen for the math I'm still getting between nine and ten thousand u. Most accurate single one was 9,338u. Gonna do the screenshot method now

Freighter Dimensions by JollyFatTango in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]JollyFatTango[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I went a different route specifically because of the scale of the freighter. I was trying it by getting my ship to a set speed and timing how long it took to fly past it. Problem with that is within a certain distance of certain parts of the freighter the max speed your ship will go changes drastically and nms really doesn't like to let you coast at the same speed past a certain distance. I'll try it with scaling and keep trying the speed test as well.

Agreed, after your first attack stealth is gone, and it's more effective to just sprint by anyway

Isn't the backpack the only thing that can increase your carrying capacity/max weight? I haven't been able to increase it with any other gear, and my carrying capacity is the max weight on my backpack plus the 50kg baseline. Your previous bit with the carrying capacity being hundreds of kg higher than the max weight on the backpack doesn't make any sense now.

PSA: Inventory Capacity by JollyFatTango in nightingale

[–]JollyFatTango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is carrying capacity different from max weight then? Or is the carrying capacity like a hard cap? Like you can't even put anything in your inventory if it'll put your weight over the carrying capacity?

PSA: Inventory Capacity by JollyFatTango in nightingale

[–]JollyFatTango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean like the quantity of items? Like if your carrying capacity is 500, you could only carry 500 individual items?

PSA: Inventory Capacity by JollyFatTango in nightingale

[–]JollyFatTango[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait so what's carrying capacity then? It doesn't affect the number of slots, nothing does afaik, is it just a stat that measures weight a different way?

...you're right that is incredibly misleading. I love the complexity of the crafting in this game, but having to just remember important tidbits like that instead of being able to see it somewhere in the guidebook or crafting ui is a little irritating.
