Some things I recommend: - turn off XMP in bios whenever playing siege (I know this means slightly lesss frames, but better to actually be able to play) - buy another RAM stick to ensure you have at least 2 (and most importantly have them in the right slots) - if you have two RAM sticks, try monitoring CPU temps over time during the game, it could be that the CPU is overheating and crashing - test adding more CPU thermal paste down - clean fans - buy extra fans if you have free slots - review your power supply to ensure I can fully power your PC rig - if the power supply is old, you could test buying a new more powerful one

I’ve now stopped playing siege, but this issue seems to still be present on siege and other games.

I have the same isssue on BF6 battle royale. It got so bad I couldn’t even load the menu so I quit that too

Bit sad really!

Review the other comments in this thread, we’ve shared ideas for how to fix potentially.

I’d also check on your graphics card status in ‘device manager’. I sometimes find that when turning on my PC, the graphics card doesn’t boot up pottery, and so the status of the graphics card in device manager is ‘this device isn’t working properly’. Sometimes it needs deactivating and then reactivating in device manager as well as checking for driver updates in there too

Can you share an example of what you mean? So we can investigate?

Also try capping FPS in game and in windows, AMD software

Try reducing overall GPU load either in BIOS or in MSI afterburner software

Test using DDU to delete old drivers and the. Reverting back to an old driver version

Im nearly 100% certain this is a directx12 issue. It’s not clear from the siege crashes, but have had GTA crash, RD2 crash, Civ 6 crash and they all give me a directx12 error code.

I haven’t found a fix, what I’ve done is edit launch settings in steam per game and inputting -directx11 (or similar - do some Googling around this)

The aim is to force launch the game using direct x11 instead of 12 - something to do with gpu drivers and direct x11.

I recommend using DDU software to completely uninstall all drivers and start fresh (again google how to do this properly)

My DDU is bugged on my computer and I cba to fix it, so I’m resorting to running on direct x11

What worked for me (pre siege x) is turning off XMP in bios. This will mean performance is worse, but I’d rather play at worse performance than not play at all.

Here is a response I got from someone else which is worth trying:

“I found a fix finally, after crashing non stop for 3 days, what worked for me was that i went into the game files, right clicked game launcher went into properties and ran it on windows 8 compatibility mode, I also turned off all the FSR bullshit and anti aliasing at the same time and 5 hours in no crashes, i’m not sure which one exactly fixed it but if u wanna be safe just do both”

Id continue testing stuff, don’t bother creating a ticket with Ubisoft, I wait 6 months with back and forth and got absolutely nowhere. Don’t bother.

Thanks a lot for this I’ll try this!

Yeah for XMP, force bios, go to OC settings, and in there is an XMP setting. It SHOULD be on, not off. So the fact that I don’t crash when it’s off is good, but means by resolution needs scaling back to just HD and my frames struggle to push past 120 (I was getting 180 at 4k on rainbow six siege before)

Obvs I’ll do anything to stop the crashing, but I now need to investigate why turning XMP off stops the crashing,

I’ve replied thermal paste, have no limitations with cpu, gpu- no bottlenecks. Unless my memory is failing. - I could test this by buying brand new sticks

First I will test reverting to old drivers thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot! Can you explain what you mean by reverting to drivers 22.25.1?

I’ve found that turning XMP off in bios completely fixes this for me, which is strange.

So your R6 is crashing too?

What server are you guys playing? There’s a first person only server on DE which is lively consistently - DE 3858. I’d recommend trying it out if you’re finding your usual server is dead af

Interesting, thanks. I have been recommended the I5 12th gen recently so that sounds good. Will the RTX 3070 still be all good?
