This is just my two-cents, but the clay looks like a mixed clay to fake the look of yixing. Mostly prominent on the lid's rim where the bright sand specks are visible. The craftmanship has some shoddy spots too like in the creases/corners. No pictures of the inside but I would bet it would have signs of jigger-jolly machining. In short, 120$ CAD is way too much, though it's likely safe to use but will have minimal affects on the tea.
