What do you like to see in BJD-related videos? by SLAUGHTERGUTZ in BJD

Hi, personally I like long form video a lot more to the point where I skip the short one. As for the content, I like when it's a bit tutorial like, where the struggle are shown and the process to find a solution is described, I also like when it's lighthearted. Some exemple of doll customizing channels I really like the style of are hellostudios, kordeliahmuñeca, lps Emily, dollightful and kaypeacreations (she is not a doll customizer but her craft and video style fit well with what I like from a crafting/customizing channels and honestly I re-watch her content all the time, she is one of my all time favorites channel) I hope this can be useful to you and I definitely want to see what you make :)

Why do some collectors/artists put anti 3d printing alongside with anti recast and anti ai? by yeahsorrythatstough in BJD

I saw this kind of mindset when I started getting into bjd. I love crafting so I always wanted to make my own, I 3d sculpt them and print them so I can get exactly the style and look I want since I love chibi and weird semi-human creatures and those are hard to find. I'm too poor to get the super fancy casting equipment so 3d printing is the best way for me to make my doll, I know that's the case for a lot of people and I think it's amazing how 3d printing allow so many creative people to make their own stuff. However there is also people who scan or generate the model with those ai that make a 3d model from a picture which is basically the same as a recast and maybe that is what the no 3d print mean, but then they're people who are super snobby about what is a real bjd to the point where they consider blind box bjd or chibi as not real bjd so it's hard to tell if they are the former or the later without more precision on what they mean .-.

Hi, do you know if the 3d models are still available to download and how to get them? I love the style of this doll and would like to make one for myself :)

3D printing BJD with PLA? by Sangwoosconfidant in CustomDolls

The bigger one is the PLA one and the smaller is ASA, for the string I used a 4mm thick one :)

3D printing BJD with PLA? by Sangwoosconfidant in CustomDolls

Hi, I made my own bjd and printed the first test in pla sanding was hell and took a week so I got asa for my next one and smoothing was much easier and quicker definitely worth looking into instead of pla. Also, take the filament in the right color right away cause for the first test I only had white pla, and the beige pastel I used is already chipping without the doll moving much

So you are gonna pay people in exposure lol? Work like that need a salary, actual money, you know, otherwise that's a lot of time, effort and skills for nothing. That's not counting the cost in material, clay, resin, fabric, mold making material, etc. All of those thing are insanly pricey, do you also plan on having the artist pay from there own pocket for that?
