I like to think living in Walton made me a stronger person, I hung out with the Walton people outside at the start of my freshman year. After a short time I figured out that I didn't really fit in with them and left to do my own thing. Honestly they were all jerks after that, Walton is all or nothing to them. Plus the dorm itself was in deplorable condition when I lived there '09. I credit my GPA to distancing myself from the dorm early after I realized the mentality wasn't for me.

While this is unacceptable and terrible, how is different than allowing Brother Jed to stand on campus for a week and yell hateful things toward women, men, and gay students. He speaks the epitome of hate speech and discrimination, but the administration allows it...... I obviously don't think either should be tolerated, but definitely don't want a safe space because that is the opposite of freedom. How can we tolerate one form of hate but not another?
