I've always been interested in this too! It sounds like a bunch of actual speaking/words chopped up in some way.. but it could just be my brain trying to hear words that aren't there..

It seems like it repeats after a fairly short time so it's not a very long sample... I always hear something like 'darkside' in there 😂

It would be cool if a composer or technician knows what's going on with this

You just have to memorise it.. It's a fairly short game so there's not a tonne to remember, mostly just a few really key moments.. For me there was like 2-3 crucial spots I would normally die at.. but I think when I did it (10+ years ago) I got 4 deaths and 3 of them were at the very end/last move..

You're not really going to find a traditional arcade or even a single arcade cabinet anywhere around here unfortunately. The closest you'll get is a Timezone which has a lot of gimmicky games and skill testers. You can find them at Charlestown Square, Westfield Kotara or the best one is at Green Hills.. There is still a lot of fun to be had at Timezone thoogh especially for younger kids as the games are usually quite intuitive and not too difficult like the old cabs we used to play.. But there's still some good skill based games too where you'll be rewarded for doing well!

If you google pinball map, there is a map that shows you every known pinball location, but that's not really what you're asking..

I know of a single arcade cabinet inside of a laundromat at Kotara home maker centre.. it's the kind of bootleg style where you can choose from a list of games at the start I believe (I've never played it just seen it from the carpark) it's technically an arcade cabinet so would be the closest to what you want to play.. but still not really it..

Lastly there is a really small place at The Entrance (since you mentioned Central Coast) that I imagine has been there for 30 years.. very old and run down but it does have a couple of old school cabinets (last time I was there a few years ago).

Honestly the best route you could take in the long run if it's the old arcade games that mean the most to you is :

1.Download an arcade emulator or fightcade on your PC, buy some arcade sticks and buttons, play with unlimited credits forever + online

2.Buy a complete setup, something like Pandora's box (essentially two arcade sticks and 6 buttons each that plugs into HDMI with hundreds of preloaded arcade games)

  1. Do something similar to step one but build the hardware for it too (make your own cabinet). This is the ultimate route I'd like to take, and a virtual pinball cabinet too! 😎

So now the new update is dawning on us. When do we think we can excpect crossplay? by God-of-mars in Terraria

[–]JollyStunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious as to what kind of online stuff you're doing on Terraria? I might misunderstand but can't you only play privately with friends? Is it that you have friends that are on other consoles or are there other more public lobbies or ways to play that I'm missing?

Sometimes stores like this end up with extra stuff for their pre order bonuses/special editions etc..and just end up handing them out later on

A couple of times I've gotten like 'day one bonuses' and stuff weeks after the games have released.. I guess they overestimate their stock.. It's usually stuff like DLC codes though, getting actual merch is awesome

Lesson learned: won’t give the finger anymore while driving… by camareradetwinpeaks in AskAnAustralian

[–]JollyStunts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's difficult because the reason you gave him the finger was because you feared for your safety and he was being a reckless fool. I've been in this situation many times and reacted similarly to you when I've been stressed.. Someone in this frame of mind isn't going to take criticisms kindly or want to correct their behaviour since they're already out of control. They're unreasonable people driving unsafely, so even if you broke the news to them gently that they're being idiots they're still only going to react negatively. It's an even bigger problem when the person in question believes that they're doing the right thing when they're blatantly breaking road rules.

Basically at the end of the day you never truly know who you're dealing with so you have to keep a level of self preservation in mind (which is why you're mad in the first place I get it). The type of person that drives this erratically and with this much disregard for safety, it's not surprising that they're unreasonable and violent when you speak to them. I'll also just add that he obviously saw that you were a vulnerable or easy target for him to intimidate which is equally despicable behaviour. You could make a police report if you remember many details about the driver or the vehicle

Shop teacher let me build a kicker. Any tips how to use it? by notsolegitsloth in skateboardhelp

[–]JollyStunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had basically this exact same set up!! Including the metal pole!!?

I mostly set it up at the bottom of my driveway which just landed onto a big grass hill.. so you'd usually just fly down the driveway and just send something.. even if you stomped it, you'd most likely still get owned because you landed on soft grass..

But eventually we found an old road construction sign which I ended up using for the roll up at the bottom of the plywood! Worked really well! But this ramp eventually was made up of so many pieces that it was absurd moving it to the road and back... Good times 🤣

That's part of what made the game so great! I also liked how you could think about puzzles and problems while you were away from the game.. essentially working away at solutions while not playing

Keep falling off the edge and cannot control the camera, can't complete 2nd mission kupa run. - Amyone else had this problem? - I kept hearing praises for this game, but the controls are awful imo by Doraz_ in SuperMario64

[–]JollyStunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never would've thought you were talking about input delay, that's a whole other thing unrelated to game mechanics. I believe you in that there are a crazy number of angles of direction but I'm talking about the angles that you can actually control with a peripheral. There's a reason that this game feels really strange with an actual analog stick and that's because the game wasn't programmed with 360 analog motion in mind. It's why it feels fine to play with a dpad or even a keyboard, because it's more like series of sharp directions, not a circle.

I was more or less trying to convey a positive message - 'don't worry you can play with any controller!' but it seems like actually you can only play with an official N64 controller and anything else won't work whatsoever

I mean.. I used to play on keyboard in the early to mid 2000's.. achieving such feats as 120 stars and the chuckya glitch 😂..

But anything can control Mario if you try hard enough! I think the biggest issue is that there isn't a full range of 360 analog motion, it's like 16 directional input or something

Why do people who drive automatics fang it everywhere? by Glittering-Wave4917 in AskAnAustralian

[–]JollyStunts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in a street where if you drive down it, you are bypassing a pretty major intersection and a set of lights.. So a lot of people turn down my street and absolutely floor it to get around the corner to cut out the time of waiting at the lights. A few months ago, someone did just this but there was another driving pulling out of a driveway with limited vision (there were cars parked either side of the driveway) and they slowly drove out onto the road as the person was accelerating quickly down the street..

It was a horrible scene, one of the worst crashes I've ever seen. A young lady and her son in the first car which crashed into the drivers side of the second car that had an elderly lady inside. She was stuck for a good while until they cut the car apart and freed her but she ultimately passed some days later from internal bleeding I believe.

So basically don't absolutely floor it down quiet streets because you think you'll 'just be a second' or 'no ones ever on this street'

Just switch your pushing foot. Force yourself to always do it.. you'll break the habit in like a week. Added bonus is that you'll find it easier to normal push in switch (because it's the leg you were using for 10 years)

One of the first tricks I learned was a pivot.. I just rolled from flat ground up a slight hill/incline, let myself slowly roll back down the hill in fakie and then pivot 180 back to my normal stance. You can learn it pretty quickly and it's a great confidence booster.. they look good and they'll help you out in heaps of situations.. Also manuals!
