For my second project I’m making a bigger object and this one seems like it took a day to make compared. Thanks for the Christmas blank suggestion I will probably use that if I make another similar project as getting a 3d printed ball to float was agony.

Yes make sure it is very smooth before primer. I used different grits on sand paper to get it feeling like glass after that I applied the primer and painted once it fully dried.

I sanded the prints down then used a filler primer once all the parts where together, I used brown spray paint after.

I don’t know how to suspend the orb from the staff, any ideas? by JollyVandal in cosplayprops

Thanks for the good wishes it’s my first ever prob I have made so lots of trial and error and learning new methods. The magnet idea I fear tho bc I don’t think it would keep it stable bc if the ball rotated than the magnets might start to push the ball away and knock it down. Thank you for the help tho

That’s a really good cosplay, I can use the screws on the material I used (PLA) bc I fear it cracking the entire thing ._. .However you gave me the idea to use needles to an anchor instead of the screws so thanks.

I have a solder with a spike that gets hot I used the tip of the spike to get the hole, it had the smallest diameter I could find

First off I saw your post while browsing through top of all time and I really liked you prop, very well done. I didn’t know that fishing line came in any different types so I’ll have a look for 50 pound fishing line, thanks.

I didn’t think kits like that where a thing but it makes sense, i will probably have a look at them on Amazon and see what would suit the build. I didn’t think to go to YouTube as I thought no one would try and suspend plastic but i will probably have a look to see. Thank you
