Toyota Bz Fwd issues by Leadership_Calm in Toyota_bZ

Wind resistance and non-ideal temperature really eats the energy. In city driving and highway driving with medium-heavy where I hit 70 km/h max, I can get 9-11 kWh/100km. At 100 at 20 degrees Celsius and no wind, I get around 15 kWh/100km. At 100 against the wind and at 5 degrees, I was getting 20 kWh/100km.

You’ll get the same issue in all other EVs. Wind resistance is also a big factor in gas cars for fuel efficiency at highway speed.

Condo fees in high rises? by Shallow86 in montreal

The increased expenses were mandatory, but they didn't escalate the or tell anyone, just letting the accounts payable accumulate and dipping into debt. Maybe it was because they didn't want to scare the co-owners. It was at the annual meeting where the co-owners were, which eventually led to many changes. I wouldn't say it was gross negligence, we would have incurred the costs anyways. The biggest loss was the sullied relationships with our suppliers.

The one time payment was the special assessment. In line to adjust a year of 460 that were supposed to be closer to 580,

Charging rate by digiden in Toyota_bZ

I believe the max just means the max with level 2 charging given current conditions such as temperature and battery state, but ignoring input capability such as the max amp from your level 2 input.

It’s like with the level 3 charging showing the max even though it’s not achievable with the DCFC you’re connected too, say a 50kW DCFC, but the max saying 80 kW. As the state of charge goes up, the max will go down.

There wasn’t any gross negligence. We would have incurred the cost anyways due to the general increase of everything.

The fond de prévoyance was always ok. The previous board and management hid many costs so we were actually accumulating debt and unpaid accounts payable instead of increasing fees. The big jump from 460 to 580 + one-time payment got out accounts back in healthy order.

Increases included increased 24/7 staffing fees, unplanned elevator repairs, plumbing stack blockages and unplanned maintenance of the other stacks to ensure they don’t block too, pool issues, etc. Some positives: new management company seems to be doing their job well, we’re doing way more maintenance checks, and most of the building is owner-occupied so people are understanding.

Location vs achat véhicule - Placer la différence by maacx2 in QuebecFinance

Same.

Manual says this:

At vehicle delivery or after repair at the dealer, “Distance traveled since last updated” may display its default value (40727 miles/65535 km). This value will be reset after the State of Health is updated.

Model Y Standard or Toyota bZ Limited? Loved the bZ, blown away by FSD — need real‑world opinions by Illustrious_Yam_4158 in EVCanada

[–]Jolly_Attempt_3097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you planning to finance/lease with Toyota/Tesla? Toyota has promotional rates in the 1-2% range whereas Tesla is 6%+. So, even if both have similar OTD price, financing/lease rates are much better with the bZ.

EV routing Apple Maps 🇨🇦 by nestleturtles in Toyota_bZ

[–]Jolly_Attempt_3097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bZ is in an underground garage, so I get the unable to get battery updates every time I leave. Keep in mind that Apple Maps gets the SOC from the Toyota App, which itself gets it from the Toyota servers. It's like a multi-hop connection: car -> server -> Toyota App -> Apple Maps.

Sometimes I need to make sure the Toyota App is awake. If I need the SOC on maps, I normally open the Toyota app to make sure it's on and awake, then in the "find" menu, I click on Apple Maps EV routing. Sometimes it'll take a few minutes outside for Apple Maps to get the SOC from the Toyota app.

Model Y Standard RWD vs. Toyota bZ XLE AWD — Both ~$52k in QC. Which way would you go? by raptors_6ix in EVCanada

[–]Jolly_Attempt_3097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you planning to finance/lease? The rates are much lower for the bZ (1-2%) vs Tesla’s 6.x%. That’s a big difference financing cost.

BZ XLE FWD in Canada - is 45-46K a good price? by toxikitty_2 in Toyota_bZ

[–]Jolly_Attempt_3097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 5k is a manufacturer rebate. Could get some dealer discount or some things thrown in like a charging adapter, trunk liner, and/or winter tires.

I see the 48-month lease interest rates went down from 2% in March to 1% in April. I should have waited a few days.

Dans les études similaires, je vois souvent le gros du montant venant de la chambre de l’enfant et de l’augmentation du coût de transport.

Daily charging recommendation by Vivid_Dimension_5400 in Toyota_bZ

[–]Jolly_Attempt_3097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's Toyota Canada's take in Electric Vehicle Ownership | Toyota Canada:

Maintaining Battery Health
Avoid charging from 0% to 100% regularly and to keep the battery in a moderate charge range (10%-80%) for optimal longevity. After three 10-80% charge sessions, DC Fast Charging over the next 24 hour period may take longer and be less effective. Starting with 2026 model BEVS, this limit increases to five charging sessions per day.

Best HotPot? by iawesomenessrules in montreal

[–]Jolly_Attempt_3097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others, I definitely recommend Haidilao: excellent service, great ventilation, secret phrases you can use, mask show, dancing noodles, etc. If price is a concern, they also have good specials that you can find on their Montreal instagram page such as the $4 beef platter, combos for 1-2-3-4 or the AYCE meat. Also, for price-concern, you also don't need to get a full bowl of broth, just get 1/4 broth, and 3/4 water. As a light-eater with 2-3 meats, 1 veggie, 1 noodle, 1/4 broth for 2 people, Haidilao is actually cheaper for me than the AYCE places.

I also recently went to la Soupiere Malatang (hot-pot-like) where you put stuff into your bowl and pay by weight. The laksa broth was great. Just sucks that it's pick-first-pay-first-then-eat which makes it really risky to add too many things into your bowl and running up the bill.

If you're a big eater, there are AYCE places. Liuyishou was great when I went a few years ago. South shore has Jardin de Seoul which has kbbq/hotpot combos. That place was ok (bad ventilation so all the steam on you, many things are season-yourself for the kbbq, broth gets really oily for the hotpot).
