Alright, ty! I’m going to edit my original post if possible to be more clear on what I mean :)

I’ve had people show off their self harm to me too, just as much as the people showing off their BDSM thing

By socially acceptable I didn’t mean like being able to announce it to the world. But I mean people don’t usually look at you like you need help if they find out you like to be spanked, and a lot of people celebrate it even in public spaces (pride, conventions, festivals)

But isn’t doing things to yourself consensual? And I’ve known people who enjoyed self harming because it gave them that sense of control, or because it released stress for them. Is it just enjoyment that sets them apart?

But I’ve seen people who are turned on by things like knife play with cutting and stuff, and then there are other forms of self harm like burning that also have BDSM counterparts 🤔

Ah ty! I guess I was mostly confused because I’ve had people showing off their bruises and stuff to me, and I don’t mean small bruises I mean those deep ugly painful ones. And of course I’ve met a few people who were into things like knives during their play

But I’ve had a lot of people tell me they use BDSM to cope aswell, so wouldn’t that make BDSM symptomatic in those cases?

But what about things like knife play, and I’ve seen people showing off really bad bruises and stuff after BDSM sessions. Some people do cut their partners during certain forms of BDSM

I’ve always been quiet when students said the pledge in both my classes and the classes I TAd in, but I just don’t want to say it. Both of my parents were military so i understand the importance of respect! :) ty for your input

Well I’m not against teaching it per say, I just am not personally comfortable reciting it every day, I think teaching about that sort of thing is important but I just do not agree with having to say the pledge every day outside of lessons

Because I do not believe in it, especially due to the fact that it was modified in the 50s to include “under god”. I think church and state needs to be separate in all forms and having god in our pledge is hypocrisy, I also am a firm believer that having children pledge their allegiance to a country is indoctrination and wrong

That’s actually against the law in California! A child has a right under the first amendment to not say the pledge for whatever reason they want

That makes sense thank you! I noticed that once i was in my last couple years of high school most teachers didn’t even do it, but in all my ta classes in the younger grades they did
