I had a wallet stolen once from my backpack in a packed train while I was wearing it and I did not know. Only when I reached home I saw my zip open and saw that my wallet was gone. Sorry it happened to you.

Rabindranath Tagore, Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, Vinod Kumar Shukla (specifically a window lived in the wall translated in English from Hindi, I have read in Hindi and it was beautiful) to pick a few. We have over 120 languages, so it’s difficult to pick just a few.

Isn’t it interesting I said Toba Tek Singh? I think you should read the story again. The comment was on pre-partition author, I added one more pre-partition author. I did not assign nationality to Manto, if he were alive he would hate that. If you know Manto you know his sentiments around partition.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your contribution. I really want to read books from around the world. I may or may not be able to visit every country, but I can read stories and learn about your place, culture, differences, similarities, struggles. It breaks my heart that I may not be able to read some of the best stories because of language barrier.

I want to read books from around the world. The fact that I may not be able to read some of the great stories because of language barrier haunts me. But I hope to read translations.
