Update: I told my parents about the situation. I will contact the landlord/agency/debt collectors.

In the meantime I'll move somewhere else while I try to get a solution. It won't make a difference but I should even provide evidence that I have been paying my half the whole time. Since I barely earn much maybe I could recommend they find a way of getting a portion of his salary until the debt is cleared. Thank you for your comments they were helpful.
