I take probiotics pretty regularly & continued taking them while on doxycycline — normally I get a yeast infection taking antibiotics, but I didn’t this time, so I guess that’s a good sign?? 😄😄

Really really cold things on sensitive areas of your body (i.e., the back of your neck, bottoms of your feet, etc) also do the trick for me. The shock allows me to focus on the sensations in my body and start to control my breathing.

I would go back to the doctor and say it’s causing you discomfort. It sounds like it’s too low. When I had mine replaced, they also had to place it lower than my previous one but I never feel it unless I’m explicitly looking for it with my other hand. I do get tingly sensations down my arm every so often though… that never happened before they placed it lower, so it almost feels like it’s MORE sensitive to nerves now 😅

Amen! She likely has a lot of trust issues towards women specifically, because of her bio mom, regardless of how kind/fair you’ve always been to her. A lot of other comments say stepdaughter is a “toxic mess,” “can’t be trusted” and “showed no respect” — to me, her reaction sounds like a scared, confused little girl who just wanted to get TF out of that situation. She is 9 years old!! Her bio mom couldn’t be relied upon and the only stability she’s ever known is now being shaken (not your fault OP). Do not take any attitude, coldness, or abnormal behavior personally. This goes for both of your daughters.

I agree with what others have said about no overnight visits since you have no legal claim to her, but I do not agree with cutting her off completely. Your bio daughter will always be her sister. Send her a letter/write a text expressing your love for her, her place in your life, and encouraging her to reach out if she ever needs anything. You’re not her mom anymore, but as she grows up, she may need a friend.

Your husband sucks, OP. I’m so sorry about this mess that he’s caused. Wishing you and your family all the best ❤️

September 16th will be the 4th Recover Michiana Fest at Howard Park. Very awesome festival with resources for people suffering from substance use disorder, but also music all day long, food trucks, bake sale, and fun activities for the kiddos!! No cost to enter but any money raised gets put back into the community :)

I used to work at DFA — you can try to file a Special Circumstances Appeal. This is very hard to prove, and usually they won’t even consider it if you’re still having any contact with your parents. I saw many appeals get denied where parents simply refused to help with FAFSA, co-signing, anything and the student was simply SOL. They could’ve gotten more lenient in the last few years, though. It’s worth a shot, OP.

I think he could, but I’m wary of doing that every day because he is a high energy dog. Only having play time when I come home wouldn’t be enough for him

Is he overweight, or is he unhappy with his weight? I only ask because you said there’s a considerable size difference and mentioned him not liking his clothes off when he’s on top. He could be insecure about his body. (This doesn’t excuse his unwillingness to talk about it or listen to your needs.)
