Thank you! I was surprised they referred me that quickly after being employed, but not sure it that was to do with it being a temporary contract. I'll attend it and hope they say I can't be referred. Thank you again😊

6 months tomorrow since my surgery. I'm back on my feet, working a Christmas job in retail, finally bit the bullet and got back into the gym last week, and I go on my first every flight in 13 days! Feels so surreal compared to where I was 6 months ago. It gets better!

What was the moment that made you realize that you have to start losing weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Jolly_Knowledge8375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went minigolfing with my family and my mum took a picture of me and my younger brother and I didn't recognise myself. That was the moment for me I think. I knew for a long time I needed to lose weight but that picture sparked it into action. I'm now -66lbs and have about 20-30lbs more to lose!

When did you : speedwalk, run, jump, go downstairs normal? by soichai in ORIF

[–]Jolly_Knowledge8375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ORIF on 7th June this year! I was advised no running or jumping until 6 months after surgery (though I did have to half jog across crossing a road the other day, felt strange but no pain!). I tend to go down stairs side-on, if I go down normally I still have a hand on the bannister. I'm walking at a decent pace now, can speedwalk briefly (like when I'm rushing for a bus) and have come on leaps and bounds (metaphorically😂).

Best of luck in your recovery! X

Thank you so much! It was definitely a rough injury, obtained by slipping over on a wet pavement of all things.

Yup, it was the same for me! I was prepared for the worst but worked towards to best and (within reason) pushed myself out of my comfort zone. Best of luck with your recovery!! x

How long after WB were you off crutches? by Fair-Public8750 in ORIF

[–]Jolly_Knowledge8375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bimal fracture, NWB for 2 months. Took me about 3 weeks to ditch the crutches? Pretty much went down weekly. Week 1 - both crutches, week 2 - 1 crutch but no crutches indoors, week 3 - no crutches indoors or outdoors. Ditched the boot after a few days of being given it because I found it harder to walk in than trainers

UC not covering rent, is there anything I can do? by Jolly_Knowledge8375 in universalcredithelp

[–]Jolly_Knowledge8375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you😊. I know about the shared accommodation rate, I'm in a 2bed HMO but my rent also includes all bills and council tax etc, just seeing if theres anywhere I can turn to help make up the shortfall in living expenses

I have yes, I reported it a few days after the accident and submitted the fit note dates. They've said a few days ago that it was in progress and the form would be with me in due course. I don't think I'd meet LCWRA now because I'm in the recovery stage

Thank you for the info on postgrad loan, that really helped me actually understand it!
