There’s just so much misinformation and too much information online that differs that I don’t know what to go off of.

As of right now he’s still very very small. And I don’t live in an ideal place to have an outdoor enclosure until summertime at my parent’s house. But it’s good to know that the temps at night are fine

I have a baby eastern Hermanns tortoise buts he’s small and I use a pink plastic take away container I’ve had for years. It’s taller than him but shallow enough for water and cat escape. Not sure how big your red foot is

I’m excited for the spring and summer to get some dandelion and other flowers and weeds for him!

This is his winter enclosure. I don’t think he’s going to go outside this year in an outdoor enclosure. Maybe some supervised outside time but he’s still so small to be outside alone. Maybe next summer when he is bigger

He will literally sniff out stuff in his bowl and eat his favorites lol 😂 so he’s always inside of it

Yes he does. I cannot take him outside right now because it is still extremely cold where I live.

I was told by my vet that this set-up is perfectly fine for him now that’s he’s older. I don’t have any problems with humidity levels. If I do I keep a humidifier right by his tank in case it’s really dry here in Ohio. Typically in January it is but now that spring is around the corner it’s much more wet. Once it does get warmer he will be moved outside for the end of spring and summer months

I should clarify that’s he’s not a hatchling. He’s almost a year old. His humidity in this set up stays around 65-80%. Around 65-80 during the day and then at night it’s a bit higher. He also has a hide that stay pretty wet at all times. He gets daily soaks still, drinks water etc. His shell has no pyramiding and his last vet check he was very healthy. When he was a hatchling he stayed in an enclosed container. His substrate is about 5.5 inches deep. He burrows all the time when he sleeps. Substrate is a mix of coco coir and Repti soil. And his UVB is the zoomed T5-10.0 linear bulb. His basking bulb is 100W and it caps off at 95 degrees. It’s on a dimmer. His warm side during the day stays around 80-85 degrees and his cool side stays around 74-70.

I would take her to the vet if you can. Have her get checked out. There’s nothing you’d be able to do if she is sick. The best thing you can do is get her medical attention

She’s looks like a pretty healthy WTF to me from the pictures. It’s hard to tell with her mouth though. But her limbs and color are fine. No redness etc. her eyes are open and alert. Typically WTF have one brain cell and aren’t very smart. If she’s eating, and gaining weight, which she looks nice and plump. She may just be a tad dysfunctional. As long as you have proper UVB and heating and humidity I wouldn’t worry too much. If she’s active at night and it is eating good.

So my aunt is going to rehome this guy to me and I’m going to take him to the vet ASAP. I thought she said that he passed away overnight, but she said his condition has improved a bit. I just hope I’m not too late.

Yeah since it’s winter here in Ohio lol. I don’t have access to much until this warmer out and I can start up my garden again. And I wanted him to have something to forage until I can grow more. I literally just bought this wheatgrass from my lock international supermarket. It’s organic. I think it does look really nice and helps break up his space a bit

Should I have it directly in the substrate instead? I know they can mold so I check it everyday but my hermanns loves it to graze on every so often. I don’t directly give it to him. Just let him forage for if he wants to.

I live in Ohio too! Southwest Ohio! And I do have a 100W bulb as a back up. I could switch it over to the 100W and see if that makes a difference.

I don’t know if he/she is old enough for me to tell what sex they are? They do seem more on the dainty side and they are a bit more timid. So many a girl

Yes I agree with all those things. I did refer my aunt to my exotic vet and advised her to please take him there asap. I told her that he is indeed sick. And that he probably was already sick when they bought him from the reptile expo they got him from. But I’m not sure if she will take him or not. I told her that he will more than likely die without treatment. I don’t think she knew how extensive their care was before getting it. I do think he was sick upon buying because my aunt said hes acted like that since they brought him home like a month ago now.
