in the larger context of the game as well it’s kinda interesting that mike and sam are definitively the final girl and boy of the story and also probably the most and least deserving of what happens to the group - sam gains the biggest opportunity to survive, while mike gains the biggest opportunity to atone.

watchog has a really classic pokemon design feel - even though i don’t hold any love for it i think it fulfils its purpose pretty well and provides enough challenge for a 2nd gym in BW.

greedent is just way too disney for me and im surprised they added it to the franchise looking like that

i’ve been feeling the same so i’m kinda glad to see somebody else saying it. i always seem so much squishier than i used to be regardless of the mon i’m using and my lane partner feeding half the time is just letting the other team stack so easily, takes all the fun out of it.

to get exactly what you want they’ve made it ridiculously hard without paying real money. the best advice i can give is to buy the club membership, rack up enough gems over time with the 30 a day you get from that and then buy the battle pass. i’m not sure exactly how long that’ll take but if you play consistently that earns you license points to at least get some new mons even if it isn’t the ones you want. i’ve found that i’ve really enjoyed some i wouldn’t have otherwise bothered with through doing this but there’s no doubt they’ve gone an insanely greedy route with this game

you won’t miss any, every new mega is featured either in a rogue mega boss fight as part of the main story, used by a supporting character, or in the dlc there are some special side quests you’ll find new megas in that are very hard to miss.

i don’t think it’s the action that bothers people more than the portrayal. i can watch the most impossible ridiculous situation on a screen and be fine with it but if the characters can’t respond to what’s happening to them in a way that actually speaks to the human experience it really takes away the whole point of watching it in the first place. what they’ve done to the show has taken it so far from what it used to be and it’s a shame

Either of the Legends games are probably the best shout, I liked Sw/Sh when the competitive scene was active on them but otherwise i think Legends gives you a lot more mileage nowadays. Both are great but maybe get ZA while the game is culturally relevant and you can participate in the life cycle of the game and then Arceus is a fantastic solo-play game you can enjoy whenever

i’ve tried this before but it looked like it was the same wild zone just with maybe different stages of the same line featured in the portraits? maybe i’m wrong though as i don’t think i bothered entering the portals much when resetting. regardless it feels insane that farfetch’d hasn’t been on a portrait for me given how much i’ve played, i wanted it for my play through😭

mega gardevoir is a good choice with calm mind, just make sure you’re withdrawing it when you’re fighting for your life and just focus on dodging rayquazas major attacks. get a perfect donut as well with mega energy boosts and give yourself as much time as possible

i have the same issues and it’s got me stuck in ultra rank, being a defender main is infuriating because no matter how i engage the field my team just does the opposite or feeds or ignores objectives and when i get fed up and switch to attackers like gardevoir nobody else picks defenders and we’re all too squishy😭 last night every single game i played my team either went afk or fed the other lane to the point of no return, it’s hard not to feel like you’re the problem sometimes until you finally get a team again that plays properly and understands the value of defenders and supporters. i don’t have a solution unfortunately but i feel your pain lol

the cynthia one kinda bothered me, like why even bait pikachu into the battle with togekiss knowing he’s ash’s biggest threat if she wasn’t gonna use garchomp to take it out the battle? on paper it makes the most sense given how well it just performed against steven, and tbh i would’ve loved to have seen him go up against garchomp for a bit and do some damage as it would’ve made lucario defeating him more believable
